Hi Tonia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My company serves Surrogates and Intended Parents as an educator and an advocate for assisted reproduction matches and knowledge. I was a surrogate myself and on my first journey, I had no idea how to find a reputable or agency or even what that would look like. Long story short, I delivered during covid-19 and my husband and I cared for our surrogacy baby for 4 months before their parents were able to enter the US due to travel restrictions. My agency disappeared during this time and left us to figure it all out on our own. This inspired me to work in the industry to support others and also found my own company where I could keep this from happening to as many parents and surrogates as I can by matching them with safe and ethical agencies, and also providing them with the tools and resources needed to navigate an independent journey.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Opposition from my peers, inability to get hired as an employee after founding my company, lack of funds to start, judgement for speaking out and rocking the boat, a slow first 2 years financially but still pushing forward.

Ethical practices. I believe that the good we put out into the world always comes back to us. Doing right by others should never be a question. My industry is a heavily exploited industry and I don’t believe anyone should be “getting rich” off the misfortunes of others. I understand and respect business and needing to make money for your services, but holding information hostage and charging unethical fees will never be okay with me. I provide education and let my clients decide freely who they would like to work with.
