Hi Anna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi I’m Anna, and I am a fashion and commercial model that travels domestically and internationally for model gigs.
I started as a freelance model, just trying to submit to gigs on Facebook groups. Eventually, I got introduced to agency in Los Angeles, Peaks Models & Talent. With them I grew more in my modeling career and recieved consistent modeling work. I am entirely grateful to them for kicking off my career.
Later, I was also signed with Gray Models & Talent and they have helped me developed and perfect my modeling skills.
Both agencies have given me helpful advice in growing my career.
Since then I have signed with other agencies such as Alicja Models & Events, Professional Pretty, and NYMMG.
My focus is to build a diverse portfolio and be known internationally. It’s a lot of travel and work but I absolutely love it. Most people don’t really understand it, until they see me getting consistent paid work.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been easy. It takes patience and persistence. Honestly it’s still hard. I have not gotten to the top yet, people closest to me don’t understand or support me, and I’m still working on building awareness of myself to future clients.
There’s a lot of competition out there and many girls with more experience than I. I have gained thick skin to know it’s not personal when they don’t pick me. I just may not be need what they need at that time, but possibly in the future I could be so I always keep trying and keep perfecting my modeling skills.
It can be a very lonely life at times but I my goal is to build my career so that it can work with a partner that matches my energy and thought. Why settle for someone who thinks so small minded and lacks the respect for loyalty. I know one day I’ll meet someone who is supportive of my career and as I get more established I can have a healthy work and family balance.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At this time in my life I’m enjoying every model gig I get small or big. I’m not at the top yet to be picky. I will travel anywhere domestically and internationally for a model gig.
I have done a lot of hair modeling for Wella in Los Angeles, Detroit, Orlando, and Raleigh. I have done fit modeling for Paige Denim for their curvy jean line. I have published internationally in Salon Professional magazines in Belgium, Spain, London, and Finland. Runway has been picking up for me alot lately. I started in Raleigh, NC for RDFW. This has helped me get booked in LAFW too. I’m working to build this into NYC and then internationally. Ecommmerce is also my goal in consistingly working in each month. I have worked for many small startup companies but want to establish my modeling career with other established retail companies.
What sets me apart from other models I would is that I look young for my age, but I have a mature mind which helps alot on set.
Honestly, we are all different in our own ways, some are more define and obvious than others and some are more aware of how they are different and have accepted that difference. As for me I believe I’m still developing and learning what that obvious difference is. I’m still building my personal modeling skills therfore this can be adaptive and beneficial to any brand I may work for as I’m modeling for them and not myself.
This isn’t just artificial for me, but it goes deeper for me. It’s creating art, touching people’s lives, and giving them inspiration.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Favorite childhood memory… playing big bad monster with my dad. He would chase me and my sister all around the house and once he’d catch us he tickle us to death.
