Hi Abel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Wrist Elegance Jewelry LLC is an American designer company founded in 2014 by Cuban American entrepreneur Abel La Rosa. The company is headquartered online in Orlando, Florida USA.
Growing up I was always passionate about style and luxury watching my father always dressed in business suits, this sparked my passion for fashion and fine gentlemen’s attire. I followed the same fashion steps as my father, but I always felt something was missing… the jewelry accessories. It was then that in 2014 as a hobby, I started designing and creating luxury handmade bracelets for myself. My jewelry soon started catching the attentions of many friends and other jewelry lovers at many of the different high end locations I would normally frequent in Winter Park, FL. I spent numerous hours learning how to bead in local bead shops, learning and researching about the best precious stones and metals from around the world. Every time I would wear my jewels I would get multiple compliments and recognition, this is when I knew I had to take this from a hobby to a business, and honestly, I never intended it to be that way, but as more and more requests were coming in for my jewelry I needed a platform on which to market and promote it and hence Wrist Elegance Jewelry LLC was born.
Now 10 years later nothing has changed. Every jewelry piece I create is with passion – I don’t follow trends, I pave the way for them. I’m evolving every single day, my story is still being written. I would love for you to be a part of it. Adding the final touches to any men’s or women’s attire is my ultimate satisfaction goal.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing is ever smooth when you’re starting your own online business (laughing out loud). But one of the struggles I remember running into in the beginning was that no jewelry wholesaler wanted to sell me their jewelry pieces since I was not an established business. I had to establish myself and become an LLC before purchasing and doing business with them. Website, logo, branding, photos, tax id, etc… But it was a good learning experience on how to do it yourself, so I’m grateful for everything I learned along the way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a beaded jewelry designer, specializing in custom beaded bracelet designs utilizing precious and semi-precious stones and precious metals from around the world. Each piece is meticulously crafted without machinery. I am proud of the quality workmanship and hours dedicated to each handmade piece. The high-end designs and styles are what sets me apart from other beaded jewelry makers. We only use 14k gold metals and precious and semi precious stones.
I am also a DJ / Producer with over 20 Years+ experience in Orlando, FL. When I’m not making jewelry you can catch me in my studio working on my next Podcast show or DJ’ing at any given event in Central Florida and surrounding cities. I specialize in Electronic Dance Music, Dayclubs, Nightclubs, and Weddings. Being a Creative Artist runs in my blood I guess you can say. Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Yes! Definitely find a mentor. Someone who knows the business and has the experience you need for the business you are trying to start and succeed at. Network as much as possible. Social media has worked great for me and networking with other jewelers and musicians alike. Learn as much as you can, and if possible learn how to do a lot on your own and by yourself. You will appreciate every step, the ups and downs of your business journey.
