Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordon Haynes
Hi Jordon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been into music since I was a child first started by drumming on a coffee container in the car to then drums , guitar, piano then anything else I could get my hands on now I produce and record my own tracks and starting to set up my first show
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been easy my house hold growing up wasn’t really the friendliest to say so at risk of sounding cliche music was a heavy escape for me or in school where there’s so much quick judgment it helped give me something to bond over with anybody
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I produce and I play drums guitar and piano but mainly focus on songwriting/producing I’m probably most known for my instrumental tracks such as (memories ) or my track did it to you I’d say I’m most proud of being able to collaborate with other local artists on some things you’ll be able to hear very soon I’d say what sets me apart is my process on making a track trying to bring back as many near forgotten genres and merging them with what’s popular now and trying to maintain the electronic sound we’ve gotten used to now but bringing back the engagement and energy a true band brings
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
For me I’d say go to concerts local shows and put yourself out there don’t go out with the idea I got to get them to work with me just make friends and more often than not you’ll realize that lots of the other people at these venues have similar interests and experiences and that for me anyway has been the most common and natural way I’ve found other creatives and or mentors to help me along the way
