Hi Liliana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi friends! My name is Liliana and I am the momma behind the scenes of Layla’s House of Play.
I started Layla’s House of Play during the planning process for my daughter Layla’s first birthday party.
I was in search of an event experience that catered to little ones and struggled to find anything in my area. I began some research and I came upon soft play which was noted to be super toddler friendly and helpful to their development!
With my background in education and love for children’s development, I knew this was the perfect opportunity to provide Central Florida with kid friendly event services.
Layla’s father Randy is our number one supporter. He is the muscle behind the scenes and together we run Layla’s House of Play to share an amazing party experience with you!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Well there’s definitely been up’s & down’s.
. One of the biggest struggles was transitioning from my 10-year career at Nike, a job I absolutely adored, to becoming a stay-at-home mom and then creating *Layla’s House of Play*. Leaving Nike was a big weight on me, especially since I was facing a significant income loss. Starting the business while being a new first-time mom made things even more challenging.
Running the business had its own set of obstacles—building a team, offering new services, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. On top of that, it’s been hard finding time to spend with my fiancé while managing everything.
However, being able to give my full attention to Layla Monday through Friday—and planning to homeschool her when the time comes—has made a huge difference. Working on the weekends while still bringing in income has been a game changer, making it all worth the effort.
As you know, we’re big fans of Laylas House of Play. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business, *Layla’s House of Play*, is a soft play company specializing in creating safe, fun, and memorable experiences for children under the age of five. We provide ball pits, bounce houses, and soft play equipment designed to engage young kids in sensory play. One of our unique features is a kids’ makeup bar, where I personally do the children’s makeup to add a special touch to their celebrations. We also offer extreme cleaning services for our equipment, ensuring everything is sanitary and pristine for every event.
What sets *Layla’s House of Play* apart is our personalized service and attention to detail. We’ve built a team that understands the importance of safety and quality for kids’ play spaces, and we continually innovate by offering new services like a makeup cart, cotton candy cart, and dessert cart, which can be added to any event.
I’m incredibly proud of the brand’s growth, and I think what makes us stand out is the thoughtfulness we put into everything we do. Whether it’s ensuring that our play equipment is the safest or giving kids a magical experience with fun activities, we truly care about making each event special.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is the value of perseverance and adaptability. Transitioning from a stable, beloved career at Nike to becoming a stay-at-home mom and starting *Layla’s House of Play* was a massive shift, and there were countless moments of doubt. But through it all, I learned that success doesn’t come from things going smoothly—it comes from being able to push through challenges, adapt to new situations, and trust the process.
I also realized the importance of balance—prioritizing my daughter and family while still building a thriving business. It’s about finding ways to make things work, even when it feels overwhelming, and trusting that each small step forward adds up. Being able to find time for my family, while managing a growing business is something I’m still working on, but it’s been a key part of this journey.
Above all, this experience has taught me that it’s okay to grow at your own pace and that with hard work, determination, and flexibility, you can achieve more than you thought possible.
