Rising Stars: Meet Angeliz Bruno

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angeliz Bruno

Hi Angeliz, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As I reflect on my path, I’m reminded that resilience is not just a trait – it’s a superpower. Growing up, I faced my share of challenges, but each obstacle fueled my determination to rise above.

I dove into the world of acting and entertainment at a young age, which unexpectedly led me to professional wrestling. Joining an all-women’s wrestling team in Orlando, Florida, at 21 was a defining moment. I shattered the glass ceilings of what people expected from me and truly focused on who I wanted to be, redefined my strength, and inspired those who continue to follow me today.

But life had its twists. Setbacks and doubts crept in, testing my faith. Yet, I refused to let adversity silence my voice. Instead, I channeled my energy into local prowrestling schools and pursued indie filmmaking, amplifying my voices through storytelling as a writer and actress.

The turning point came at 25 when WWE/NXT Recruiting scouts invited me to audition for them in Las Vegas before Summerslam in 2021. That moment and opportunity ignited a fire within me. It wasn’t just validation I sought, but empowerment to push beyond limits. This turning point fueled my passion to pursue professional wrestling with unwavering dedication.

As I now step into a new journey of becoming a first time mommy, Motherhood fuels my inner strength, and I’m more determined than ever to pursue pro wrestling training after recovery. I want to show my child that I’ll be a fierce and loving example, showing them that determination and unconditional love can overcome any obstacle. I want to tell them one day, ‘You have a strong, brave mommy and daddy who never gives up,’ and mean it.

My story is a reminder that:

Adversity is not a barrier, but a bridge to growth.
Every setback conceals an opportunity for rebirth.
Empowerment is forged in the fire of resilience.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life’s journey hasn’t always been smooth, but faith in Christ and resilience have carried me through. I’ve faced significant challenges, such as divorce, losing my home, my car, My job because of the Covid pandemic in 2020 including personal setbacks and traumatic experiences later on in life. However, through therapy, self-reflection, and my relationship with Christ, l’ve emerged stronger and more determined.

Those dark times taught me valuable lessons: that I am capable of overcoming adversity, that my identity is rooted in faith, and that my voice matters. Today, I’m dedicated to using my social media platform to hopefully inspire and serve my community, shining a light on hope and resilience.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a multifaceted force, unapologetically embracing my passions and creativity. Locally throughout the years, I have been known as a runway model, filmmaker, pro wrestler, and actress, I’ve defied conventions and pushed my own boundaries. My versatility isn’t just about exploration; it’s about empowerment.

I’m proud to be a beacon of inspiration not just for women, mothers and my followers everywhere but also showing that we can excel in multiple realms. Through my beginnings with Orlando International Fashion Week, Orlando Independent Filmmakers, and my hard work now in pro wrestling and film, l feel like I’ve cultivated myself in a wide range of creative communities that celebrates resilience and determination.

What sets me apart? My unwavering dedication to uplifting others. I’m not just a creative; l’m a catalyst for growth. I empower women to own their strengths, pursue their dreams, and break free from limitations.

My mantra? ‘Fear less, create more.’ I embody this philosophy, constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities to inspire. For every woman who’s been told she’s too much or not enough, I’m living proof that our potential is limitless.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Finding a mentor requires discernment and self-awareness. My advice: seek someone who resonates with your faith, vision, and goals. Surround yourself with positive, likeminded individuals who uplift and support your growth.

However, beware of false alignments. Trust your instincts; if something feels off, listen to that inner voice. Not everyone who claims to support you will contribute to your growth.

A true mentor will:
1. Believe in your potential
2. Offer constructive guidance
3. Respect your Faith
4. Celebrate your successes with you.

Red Flag Mentors:

1. Self-serving intentions
2. Lack of accountability
3. Unsolicited advice
4. Disrespect for boundaries

Remember, no one is perfect, but a genuine mentor will help sharpen your character and celebrate your growth.
