Daily Inspiration: Meet Emily Young

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Young

Hi Emily, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Emily.

I am the owner of Photos by Emily Rose, LLC. Here is a little bit about me:

I am a published photographer in multiple magazines. My interest in photography started in middle school. For as long as I can remember, I was the girl behind the camera at every event/gathering with family and friends. I have always been fascinated with the fun and creative parts of photography; and how you can make a single moment last forever. I photograph weddings, couples, lifestyle, and more!

Whenever I am not behind a camera or working, I enjoy spending time with my significant other, and best friend, Rhett. We love to spend time with our little one, family and friends. I am a full time college student, I work at a local cancer center/research institute, and I am a server at a local restaurant.

Jesus is our #1. I am who I am because of God’s never-ending love!

I bring my camera EVERYWHERE. You never know when you may see something interesting or have a photo opportunity. My camera roll on my phone is FULL of sky pictures and scenery. No matter the event, style, or place; I can’t wait to hear from you so we can capture the best memories that you and your loved ones can cherish for a lifetime!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
On any business journey, you’re going to run into roadblocks and competition. There have been times where I have had to take a step back from photography and focus on my full-time job and college. But of course, photography being my passion, I always found my way back to doing what I love. As of this year, I officially became a business owner and obtained my LLC. In terms of photography being a very competitive business, I have discovered that studying different types of advertisement, and being a business owner has helped me significantly this year with my clientele. I am a part of many online photography communities, where other veteran photographers share their tips and tricks, and that has been very helpful.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
A part from being a professional photographer/business owner and photographing many important moments in peoples lives; I am a full-time college student and have two other jobs. I have worked in the medical field since I graduated high school in 2015. I also recently began serving at a local restaurant near my home. I am actively pursuing my college degree in healthcare administration. Caring for others and giving back to my community is something I love to do. I love working with people and making people happy; this is the main reason why I recently got a job as a server.

How do you define success?
For me personally, success is setting goals and reaching those goals; but most importantly, never giving up. It’s okay to set a goal and fail, but it’s important to never stop believing in yourself and to get back up and try again until you succeed.
