Today we’d like to introduce you to Frances Vélez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been passionate about movement and how it can improve your life in so many ways. As a fitness instructor, I’m always looking for ways to motivate others to move, feel stronger and confident. It all started as a desire to create a platform to encourage women to love their bodies and to include movement in their daily routines. I was home with a newborn and no job at the time so I decided to go for it.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road but I truly believe everything that is really worth it involves sacrifices. There has been many struggles and I am still working really hard to learn how to manage them. Here are a few: Balancing the time between the business, a full-time job, and a family. Dealing with self-doubt and questioning if I’m doing the right things. Comparing my business with similar ones.
As you know, we’re big fans of Move Athletics, Corp. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Move Athletics is an online body-inclusive women’s activewear boutique, but more than that it is a community of strong women that enjoy moving and are rooting for each other. My goal is to provide women great quality, comfortable and affordable activewear. I hand-pick styles focusing on what I believe will boost your confidence and motivate you to move more and with more intention. I’m extremely proud and grateful for all the messages I receive from women sharing with me how my brand’s mission has helped them get out of their comfort zone, start working out, feeling more confident in their own skin, and loving their bodies. Those are the things that push me to keep going.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Go for it! You never know what would/could happen until you try. There is nothing wrong with failure; if that’s the case, take it as a learning experience. You got this!
