Today we’d like to introduce you to Anderson Armstrong
Hi Anderson, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Started in 1983 when I approached The Mighty Gabby at a chance meeting about performing. He worked with me and I took part in a first timers competition he was having. I placed 5th in the final.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was a pretty smooth road and the second year when I moved on to perform with another entity I created and had a huge hit song that got me at least three encores a night at every performance. The rough periods in my mind were the things that come with performing and business. However for the most part it has always been pretty exciting and fun.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer, song writer, producer, actor and radio personality. I am best known for two very popular songs I did in the late 90’s. One is called “The Plumber” and the other is”Kitty Cat”. There are quite a few things I am proud of but in 2011 at the Barbados Music award I received 5 awards out of 11 nominations for various categories and at another I was awarded most dynamic entertainer of all time.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For anyone starting out I always advise that they be committed. Practice regularly and improve your craft daily. Show love and respect to whatever you are doing and it will reward you in the long run. Be patient and consistent.
