Daily Inspiration: Meet Ryan Encarnacion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Encarnacion

Hi Ryan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My music journey has been defined by exploration, independence, and creativity. I produce, record, and engineer my own tracks, blending genres like disco, synthwave, and vaporwave, often with a nostalgic touch. My song “Solar Flare,” characterized by funky synths and a smooth, atmospheric vibe, is my most successful track on Spotify.

Previously signed to Ultra Music, I released an EP before deciding to pursue an independent path, refining my sound and artistic identity. After a hiatus, I came back strong with my single “Give Me a Shot,” the first release from my EP “The Love Evangelist.” The project showcases my growth as an artist and my ability to produce music that resonates emotionally with listeners.

My music draws from influences like Michael Jackson and the Bee Gees, embracing vintage aesthetics while incorporating modern production techniques. Beyond the music itself, I’m passionate about creating immersive experiences, including music videos and visuals that complement my sound. I’m always pushing the boundaries of my artistry, with future projects inspired by themes like interludes influenced by old VHS commercials and radio station aesthetics.

Through my music, I aim to evoke feelings, inspire connection, and build a unique legacy in the industry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t been smooth, but the challenges have shaped me and my music. Early on, I faced setbacks in the industry, including leaving my record label to pursue independence. While it gave me creative freedom, it also meant learning how to produce, market, and promote my music entirely on my own.

Financial struggles have also been a significant hurdle. Balancing investments in music production, equipment, and promotion while ensuring I didn’t overextend myself was difficult. At one point, I even stepped away from music for a year and a half to rebuild my confidence and resources.

Another challenge has been staying true to my sound in an ever-evolving industry. I’ve always loved vintage vibes and genres like disco and synthwave, but carving a unique space for myself within these styles hasn’t been easy. It’s taken time and effort to find the right audience who appreciates my vision.

Through it all, I’ve learned resilience and persistence. Each obstacle has been an opportunity to grow, and I’m proud of the artist I’ve become because of those experiences.
