Life & Work with Nadia Clarke of Sanford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Clarke

Hi Nadia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I created Cherry Bee Collections in honor of my late aunt Cherry, and my mother, Bee. Both women inspired me to be the woman that I am today. Although they shared the same birthday, they were complete opposites. In beauty and fashion my mother was very subtle. She would only wear Avon perfume lotion with the matching roll on deodorant, vaseline on her lips and her afro picked out. My aunt on the other hand loved to stand out. She rocked a short natural cut with her brightest red lipstick, red nails and her highest heels. Even though they both expressed themselves differently they exuded confidence. That taught me whether I wore makeup or not I am beautiful regardless of what anyone may say. Cherry Bee Collections purpose is to bring out the confidence within you. That’s what I represent!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. My business has gone through trial and error. From introducing failed products to long hours into the wee morning making body butter, being a business owner is an all in mentality or nothing at all!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My cosmetics are made with vegan ingredients and are cruelty free. The body butter and hair oils are made with raw ingredients to bring you all the nutrients you need to moisturize your skin and hair. I envisioned and took the time to carefully create quality products that people enjoy. I am so proud of where I am because the odds were against me. I was a single mother of 3 with a dream to create generational wealth. Even though I’m not where I want to be, I’m definitely not where I use to be.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes! I lost my childhood bestfriend and my father during Covid-19 crisis. Life is precious. Be kind because you never know what someone is going through.
