Life & Work with Max Wersinger of Deltona

Today we’d like to introduce you to Max Wersinger

Hi Max, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Our band Carrabelle was started by myself, Max, and my friend from diapers, Brad. We grew up in musical families, going to concerts every weekend.. Brad played drums at a very early age, and I followed with piano and guitar.. our love for music turned into a desire to make our own.. after many different attempts of starting a band, we finally found our permanent lineup with our two best friends, Jared and Justin. We have been playing music for a very long time, but this past year is the first time it feels like a real thing.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been may obstacles, mainly battling the inner thoughts of “are we taking the right steps?” Also as bandmates we all have our own lives, so finding time for practice, shows, recording, and creating content can be a challenge.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The thing I am most proud of about us, is we are set apart when it comes to having a good time.. our shows at this point have really just become a chance to hang with the boys… we also released a record we are very proud of… our first LP plays like a movie.. from beginning to end it shares a through line. How to be content with what you have, but also feeling like you don’t belong in the place you’ve been in your whole life.

What matters most to you?
Our friendship as a band matters most.. not how many views or likes we get, those things our meaningless. But also making music we are proud of at the end of the day. Make music we would be stoked to listen too..
