Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephon Wright
Hi Stephon, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I served in the US Army for 7 years on active duty and deployed to Afghanistan. While in the military, I started taking photos and enjoyed it. I left and went to Full Sail University, where I got my Bachelor’s in Film and Master’s in Entertainment Business. Since then, I have worked for Marvel, Netflix, and Warner Bros. My background is in Producing and VFX. I started my own company, Black Gator Production Company. It’s a Media company that covers everything from photography to animation.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been bumpy honestly. You hear many no’s and no responses but that’s part of it. The biggest struggle was putting myself out there. Once I got more comfortable after my first movie it got easier.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Black Gator Production is a veteran-owned and operated company. We specialize in Film and Photography. We are known for a lot of government work whether it’s photography for the Army or Interviews with the VA. What sets us apart is our members. We have members that’s worked on big union projects to others who designed assets for Legos and General Dynamics. Brand wise I’m most proud of our consistent with the content we work on. For the reader our company offers these services; Photography, Videography, Commercials, Testimonials, Weddings, 3D Animation, Design and Content Creation for social media.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
My first role starting as an editor played good luck in my business. Starting as an editor it gave me a better vision for when I’m shooting videos or photography to understand the end goal.
