Meet Lilly Solla of Winter Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lilly Solla

Hi Lilly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
A couple of years back, we were on vacation in Orlando and stumbled upon Winter Park. We instantly fell in love with the area but noticed there wasn’t many authentic Italian places. So we decided to open up a place of our own. Our goal is to bring a piece of our Italian culture here and share it with everyone.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning, we had a tough time opening our store as we had to remodel and renovate to accommodate a bakery. We spend 9 months waiting to open, much longer than it was anticipated. It was a rough patch but once we opened everything else has just gone up hill.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Back in Italy, we owned a bakery/cafe kind of like M’ama Napoli. I trained as a pastry chef in Italy and made my creations for my shop. We were always busy and our customers loved all our goods. We learned and grew from this experience and brought it over here to Winter Park. Most of our work experience comes from our business in Italy and we are proud to bring a piece of it here.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Like most businesses, we would love to keep growing. With hard work and the dedication we put in, we would love to see multiple M’ama Napoli’s out there. For now we want to establish our brand and provide quality goods to our customers.
