Community Highlights: Meet Nick Adcock

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Adcock

Nick, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been coaching golfers for the last eleven years. What began as a curiosity in working on my own swing became a business that I have been fortunate to run in both the Orlando area, but also around the world through online lessons.

I started in 2o13 coaching high school golf and working with an after school program that gave golf lessons to kids. From there I started teaching at Orange County National Golf Center, giving private lessons and hosting golf schools. After five years of that it was time for a little change of scenery, so I began spending my summers in New Hampshire, working at Baker Hill Golf Club where I am the Teaching Professional.

One of the highlights of my career to this point was working for Sean Foley (former coach of Tiger Woods, Lydia Ko, Justin Rose) for three years. Sean is one of the best coaches in the world, but an even better human being. Working at his academy was like getting a PhD in coaching.

From that experience, I was ready to branch off on my own and begin working for myself. I now work with golfers of all skill levels at Tee It Up Driving Range in Oviedo.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When you become a golf instructor, it’s often because of a passion for helping people and wanting to live your life on the golf course. What you don’t anticipate are all of the things that come along with running a business; building a website, setting up an LLC, learning how to market yourself. I have been fortunate to have mentors throughout my career that have stressed the importance of being just as savvy with the business side of it, as being a great teacher.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a golf coach that specializes in helping golfers strike the ball better. I have been a Stack & Tilt Authorized Instructor for the last 9 years, which is a geometrical approach to the game based around three fundamentals; control the low-point of the swing, hit the ball far enough to play the course, and have a predictable curve to your shots.

I utilize high speed video analysis and doppler radar technology to measure both the swing and the flight of the ball. This helps me make educated decisions, rather than guesses, to ensure I get the best result for my students.

I was named to the Golf Digest Best In State List for both 2022/2023 and 2024/2025.

What are your plans for the future?
I hope to continue to expanding my reach in the community, helping more people find the game of the golf.
