A few years ago, my wife and I were looking for a shed, and let me tell you—it was a nightmare. We couldn’t believe how frustrating it was just to get straight answers from local shed dealers and even big box stores. The prices were ridiculous, and the quality? Not even close to what we expected.

That’s when we decided to do something about it. We wanted a shed company that made the process easy, transparent, and actually focused on the customer. A place where you could customize your shed and get exactly what you were looking for—without the runaround. So, we built Handcrafted Sheds and More, the business we wished existed.

Our mission is simple: build better sheds, faster, and make the process as smooth as possible. With us, it’s all about you. When you call, text, or email, you’re not getting some automated response—you’re talking to a real person who actually cares about what you need.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Building Handcrafted Sheds and More has come with its fair share of challenges. From the beginning, we knew the shed industry needed a change—we had a terrible experience buying one ourselves, and we set out to create a company that made the process easy, transparent, and customer-focused.

Along the way, we’ve dealt with competitors copying our products and processes, which only pushed us to innovate and stay ahead. Permitting has also been a hurdle, but we’re working on streamlining that process to make things smoother for our customers.

Scaling the business has been a learning experience, but we’ve built a great team and fine-tuned our operations to keep up with demand. The goal? To be Florida’s #1 shed company and keep growing.

Every challenge has been a lesson, and we’re stronger because of it. The road hasn’t been easy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
First, supply chain issues were a mess—materials got harder to find and more expensive, so we had to get smarter about planning ahead.

We also saw how important clear communication is. With delays everywhere, keeping customers in the loop and being upfront about timelines became a top priority.

And honestly, the biggest lesson? Going all-in on digital. More people were working from home, wanting backyard upgrades, and shopping online. Strengthening our social media and online presence helped us not just survive, but grow through it all.

It wasn’t easy, but it made us better, more efficient, and even more focused on giving customers the best experience possible.
