I started my journey in the hair industry over two decades ago, drawn to the creativity and connection it offered. In the beginning, my path was uncertain—I worked on and off, held back by fear and self-doubt. But deep down, I knew this was my passion.
Eventually, I made the decision to fully commit, pouring my heart and soul into honing my craft. I specialize in blondes and extensions, mastering techniques that set my business and the experience that Onyx Hair Lab offers apart. Over the years, I’ve built a loyal clientele, not just by delivering flawless results but by creating an experience—one that made clients feel truly seen and catered to.
Now, with 12 years of experience behind the chair, I’ve stepped into a new chapter: opening my own salon. Inspired by a moody, gothic-luxury aesthetic, this space is designed for the ‘girls’ girl’—a place where beauty, confidence, and individuality are celebrated. Every setback and struggle led me here, and today, I stand as a business owner, stylist, and mentor, proving that when you bet on yourself, the rewards are limitless.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh definitely not! My journey in the hair industry hasn’t been without its challenges. In the early years, I worked on and off, questioning whether I was good enough or if this path was truly meant for me. Imposter syndrome crept in, making it difficult to see my own potential.
As I gained experience and built my clientele, the struggles shifted. Long hours, burnout, and the pressure to constantly stay ahead in a competitive industry became real obstacles. I had to learn how to balance creativity with business—navigating pricing, marketing, and client relationships while still delivering top-tier services.
Opening my own salon came with even greater challenges. The financial risk, the weight of responsibility, and the fear of failure were all overwhelming at times. There were moments of doubt—wondering if I was making the right move, if people would follow me, or if I could truly create something that reflected my vision.
On a personal level, I’ve also faced struggles that tested my resilience, including navigating difficult loss, relationships, and life transitions. But through it all, I kept pushing forward, proving to myself that fear wouldn’t define me or my goals. Every challenge made me stronger, shaping me into the stylist and business owner I am today.

I find happiness in seeing my vision come to life and knowing my work makes others feel confident and valued. Building meaningful connections and creating a space where people feel empowered bring me the most joy. The fulfillment or turning my passion into something tangible and successful is truly what drives me.
On a personal level, my family and loved ones are what keep me motivated to continue pushing forward for bigger and better. I believe love is life’s purest form of joy and I wouldn’t be where I am without that.
