Conversations with Cassandra Boryszak

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassandra Boryszak

Hi Cassandra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my photography journey back in 2012, when my first baby had recently turned one and I purchased my first camera off eBay. I couldn’t believe how quickly that first year went and how much time had faded. I found myself with this new desire to remember it all. I quickly became passionate about photographing my own son, but also, my nieces, nephews and all my friends’ children. I started posting some of my work and friends of friends began reaching out for family photos and a business was born. Over the last decade, I have refined my craft, as well as my process, based on my own experiences as a mother and those of other moms with young children. As my children grew quicker than I could fathom, I realized all of their pictures were on my computer or my phone. I wanted our memories where we could see them and enjoy them together. I chose some beautiful pieces for our home to display on our walls and albums created from our favorite experiences. Why did it take me so long to do this? Because I was the one who had to do it!

I realized this is a service I could have used years ago and one that would be extremely valuable for new and expecting mothers to get their photographs in their hands and displayed in their home. I now offer a complete luxury photography experience catering to mothers which includes hair, makeup, styling assistance and access to my client wardrobe with stunning gowns and options for babies up to 2yrs to make planning a photo session seamless with a bit of pampering for mom. All sessions include consultation about how you want to display your images and complimentary designs for wall art and heirloom albums. This allows families to have completed, archival quality artwork to enjoy for generations.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say it has been a fairly smooth road. The largest obstacle I faced with my business was our move from Buffalo, NY to Orlando, FL in 2018. At that point in time, all of my clients were in Buffalo. It took some time to meet new friends and clients in Orlando. I did several free sessions and model calls to build my portfolio in a new area and started working on SEO and blogging to get website traffic in a new area. I traveled back to Buffalo regularly for weddings and client work for about 2 years. Once my 3 children began multiple extracurricular activities, regular travel became more difficult. The majority of my work is now local to the Florida area. I do travel to clients outside of Florida but it’s less often than it was in years past.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a full service newborn and family photographer based in the Orlando area, dedicated to providing an experience that is both passionate and deeply connected. This luxury service is tailored for mothers who value the precious moments of their child’s early days. With a steadfast commitment to excellence, I focus on every detail to ensure a smooth planning process, allowing my clients to shine with beauty and warmth in front of the camera. Clients are treated to professional hair and makeup, along with access to an exquisite selection of timeless pieces from my carefully curated wardrobe. My work goes beyond traditional photography. I create authentic pieces of art, including heirloom albums and stunning framed fine art prints. This provides a heartfelt tribute to each family’s story and designed to enhance their homes while preserving a legacy of love for future generations.

I am also the co-creater of an online beginner photography course called Motherhood Inspired which is available for mothers who want to learn how to use their cameras to take pictures of their children at home. I am proud to be a part of a community of mothers and offer an opportunity for busy moms to quickly learn the art of photography to create imagery of their every day that they can cherish forever.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband, family, friends and clients are my biggest supporters and cheerleaders. The majority of my business comes from word of mouth which I am truly so grateful to have such a kind and supportive community that values the art I create with my clients. I have also had many great mentors and industry friends who inspire me daily. The Scout Guide Orlando community has been vital to my small business. These are local creatives, artists and entrepreneurs who share in my vision and continuously lift me up. I am incredibly inspired by working with others and such collaborations have led to a newer passion of photography for entrepreneurs, small businesses and brands.
