Conversations with Luis Rodriguez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Rodriguez

Hi Luis , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 2015 I had an encounter with Jesus Christ, I was in Hialeah Florida- I had a boxing gym there as at that time i was a professional boxer. I surrendered my life that night and from that point i have been serving the Lord. I quickly moved to SpringHill Fl where for the next 2 years i lived and trained and grew in the Lord. In 2017 I answered an ad for a boxing position in DeLand Fl. I got the job and moved here, while coming to visit in 2017 I encountered an accident where there were young people involved. I stopped and prayed for them and the Lord told me i am brining you here for this generation. A year into me taking that job 2018 the Lord said that i will never box again, which was hard for me as i had dedicated my life to train and fight. But he said i want you to preach so that is what i started doing. I could train and teach them and mentor but never fight again. So in 2018 I started preaching. Fast forward to 2020 when covid hit I lost my job at the gym and i started training people in my backyard during covid – I established my business in 2020 – June 15 2021 I opened my gym in the middle of covid – By Nov 2022 I was out of space in 1500 sq ft – we moved to 3000 sq feet Dec 22 – We just crossed over 2 years here and we are out of space – We have created a sports ministry that is in revival touching youth and families. We also preach in schools – last year over 3000 students came to the Lord . This year we are close to 1000. We are looking to expand DeLand , and into Deltona and Sanford.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As I said we established in covid and people thought i was crazy to open but God has sustained us
