Today we’d like to introduce you to Betty Atchison.
Hi Betty, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a professional singer, dancer, choreographer, stilt walker, balloon artist, and celebrity impersonator. My career began as a performer at Walt Disney World as a singer, dancer, actor, and assistant choreographer. I have since performed throughout the U.S and internationally in theaters, cruise ships, movies, corporate events, and at Universal Studios Florida.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Never a smooth road! In the beginning, I was constantly auditioning, using every success and failure to learn and grow.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I would say my strength is in my ability to try and do a lot of different things. Because I have a low thresh hold for boredom, I am not happy sitting at a desk all day or doing a repetitive 9-5 job. Adventure and variety keep life interesting. It is scary, but with determination and hard work, it does pay off.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I could not do what I do without the support and collaboration of others. Teamwork makes the dream work! Every show is a collaboration of producers, directors, agents, choreographers, technicians, and performers. I learned early on that those who treat others with kindness and respect go much further than those who don’t, regardless of talent.
