Today we’d like to introduce you to Martin Spilker
Hi Martin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a native Missourian. I took up landscape/nature photography at the urging of a friend who had seen a photograph I had taken of Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in Maine.. I purchased my first camera in 1999.
I developed my skill and was inducted into the Missouri Artisans Association D.B.A. Best Of Missouri Hands. by jury of Artists in 2002.
I have a genetic muscle disorder “McArdle’s Syndrome” As that progressed I took up RV living to avoid the harsh winters. So that is how I came to be in North Central Florida.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Lol..no it hasn’t been a particularly smooth road. I was building success displaying my photography at high end art fairs, such as at Virgina Beach and Jackson Hole, but my muscle disorder progressed and I no longer have the physical ability to put up that kind of display required… so now I am trying to build my website and visibility to sell my photo prints solely online..

Fine art landscape/nature photography.
I have a variety of colour and black & white photos of images from across the country.,as I have traveled the contiguous 48 states as well as stunning images local to the Leesburg, Florida area.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Lol..to not get too excited about praise for my work. But be thankful that I can brighten the days of many whether they ever purchase any prints or not.
Pricing:
- The prices of my photo prints vary based on the size of the prints. For example $35 for 8×10, $120 for 16×24, $250 for 24×36 with sizes in between.
- On my website when the available print sizes are listed with price. The price you see includes shipping and applicable taxes.
