Exploring Life & Business with Taylor Perez of Stay There Headwear

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Perez

Hi Taylor, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The idea behind Stay There Headwear first came to me in 2021 when I was just trying to look a little stylish at the gym and ended up frustrated with a shifting headband in my group fitness class.

Over time, I started noticing all the other ladies who had to adjust headbands at the gym. Wouldn’t it be nice if they just stayed in place? I knew there had to be a better way to design these things.

I made my first prototype and solved the problem for myself, not even thinking of starting a company. But over time I knew, more women need this solution.

The less we worry about our shifting accessories, the better we can focus on our more important endeavors, All while looking effortless, stylish, and accessorized. Who says we can’t have it all.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Launching Stay There Headwear has been an exciting journey, but it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was creating a product that had never existed before. There was no blueprint to follow, so I had to design and source everything from scratch, from the materials to the functionality.

Finding a factory that was willing—and able—to bring this vision to life was another major hurdle. Since my product was brand new, many manufacturers weren’t sure how to produce it at scale. After a lot of research, trial and error, and countless conversations, I finally found a factory that could take on the challenge.

But even then, the road wasn’t clear. When I received my first bulk order, I ran into unexpected quality issues. It was frustrating to see my vision not executed the way I had intended. However, I used it as a learning experience—working closely with the manufacturer to refine the process, improve quality control, and ensure that every product met the high standards I had set.

Through all of this, I’ve learned that entrepreneurship is about persistence, problem-solving, and staying true to your vision, no matter the obstacles.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Stay There Headwear?
Stay There Headwear is more than just a brand—it’s a solution to a problem no one had solved before. We specialize in creating high-quality, innovative headwear designed to stay in place, no matter what. Whether you’re on the go, working out, or just living your daily life, our headwear is designed to keep up with you.

What sets us apart is that we’ve created something completely new. Traditional hats and headbands often slip, shift, or just don’t fit quite right. I saw the frustration and decided to change that by designing a product that actually stays there. The result? A unique, thoughtfully engineered piece of headwear that combines style, function, and comfort in a way that’s never been done before.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the innovation and problem-solving behind Stay There Headwear. Every detail was designed with intention, from the materials to the fit, ensuring that customers get a product that truly works.

More than anything, I want people to know that Stay There Headwear is here to make their lives easier. If you’ve ever struggled to keep your headwear in place, we’ve got the perfect solution for you. We’re just getting started, and I can’t wait to see more people experience the difference

How do you think about luck?
I believe luck plays a role in everyone’s journey, but in business, success is really about what you do with the opportunities—or challenges—that come your way. I’ve had moments of good luck, like connecting with the right people at the right time or stumbling across solutions just when I needed them. But I’ve also faced setbacks that some might call bad luck—like dealing with unexpected quality issues in my first bulk order.

That said, I don’t rely on luck. Every challenge has been a chance to learn and improve, and every bit of good fortune has only paid off because I was ready to take action. Stay There Headwear exists today because of persistence, problem-solving, and a refusal to give up when things didn’t go as planned. So while I’ll take any good luck that comes my way, I know that real progress comes from showing up, putting in the work, and staying committed to the vision.
