Meet Chris Frommeyer of Schweini’s Delicatessen LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Frommeyer

Hi Chris , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The idea started when a friend and I did a small German sandwich tent for Crooked Cans Oktoberfest 11/12 years ago. We had so much fun we started putting together ideas for a German style deli. Played around with the menu for years while waiting for a spot to open that was perfect for us. Eventually he was unable to continue with the idea, my schnitzel sandwich Die Behrens is named after him actually. COVID hit and it re upped my interest in doing my own thing. After working as a baker in a local shop for a few years to learn a new skill my little spot opened in Downtown Winter Garden.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
A few bumps since its my first business. But now its being on the side street. Hard to get people to find my place since i’m slightly off the beaten path

We’ve been impressed with Schweini’s Delicatessen LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It’s a German style deli. I like to take traditional German dishes and turn them into sandwiches. We are known for our hot pastrami sandwich with house made pickles, muenster cheese, and stone ground mustard and , my personal favorite, the Schweinibraten, a pulled pork style sandwich, slow braised pork shoulder in a seasoned beer bath. tossed with red cabbage and apples and served with what I call “beer jus”

I specialize in big fun sandwiches while trying to bring a new take on something you may or may not know.

What sets me apart from others around and what makes me the best is my flavor profile. I take a different approach to flavors than others, bringing a mix of Germany and me together to create something fun and different.

I’m most proud of what I have built. A fun environment where one can get a quick lunch, have a relaxing time, or watch soccer with beautiful sandwiches and cheap delicious beer. A place where I have built a loyal following because of these reasons.

I would like your readers to know that if they are tired of the same ole sliced deli meat sandwich that I am the place for them. I have tons of fun options for most palates and if wanting a place to watch your favorite European soccer team I have them covered.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Good luck has played a huge part. Like finding a wife who supports me in my insane ideas, and having friends that will step in and help when I need, has made this journey so much easier.
