My Journey: From Entrepreneur to Real Estate Professional
Hi, I’m Shiela Nguyen, and I’m proud to have been raised in Hawaii by my immigrant parents, who taught me the values of hard work, perseverance, and integrity. My dad has been my biggest inspiration, showing me what it means to work tirelessly for a better future. Those lessons have shaped who I am today and continue to guide me in everything I do.
I’ve lived in Florida for over 20 years, and while I’m newly licensed in real estate, my passion for the industry goes way back. I’ve always been involved in real estate—whether it was learning from personal experiences, helping family and friends, or staying up-to-date with the market. When I officially became a licensed real estate agent in November 2024, I knew I was stepping into a career that truly aligned with my passion for helping others achieve their homeownership and investment goals.
Before becoming a realtor, I was a business owner, running a successful nail salon, where I developed strong skills in customer service, attention to detail, and creating meaningful relationships—all of which now help me better serve my clients in real estate.
I’ve been honored to already help two wonderful families go under contract, with one preparing to close next month. Each milestone, no matter how big or small, means the world to me. My goal is to make the process of buying or selling a home feel as smooth and stress-free as possible—like having a trusted friend by your side.
When I’m not working, I cherish spending time with my family. We love exploring new local restaurants, enjoying the natural beauty Florida has to offer, and finding fun family-friendly spots along the way. I’m passionate about supporting small businesses, staying connected with my community, and making time to travel and create lasting memories with the people I love most.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting something new is never easy, especially while managing an already full plate. There were moments of doubt, exhaustion, and feeling like I wasn’t doing enough. But through it all, I reminded myself why I started—to create a better future for my family and to pursue a career that truly excites me.
That being said, none of this would have been possible without the support of my husband, my brokerage, and the amazing mentorship I’ve received. Having people who believe in me, guide me, and push me to keep going has made all the difference. Their encouragement has helped me navigate the challenges, stay motivated, and continue growing in this new career.
Despite the struggles, I wouldn’t change a thing. Every late night, every early morning, and every sacrifice has been worth it because I’m building something meaningful. And while the challenges are still there, I’ve learned to embrace the process, trust myself, and keep pushing forward.
This is just the beginning, and I know there’s so much more ahead—but I’m excited for the journey!

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5 to 10 years, I see the real estate industry evolving significantly, driven by technology, changing buyer preferences, and market trends.
One of the biggest shifts will be the continued rise of digital and virtual real estate experiences. Buyers and sellers are becoming more comfortable with virtual tours, AI-powered home searches, and remote transactions, making the process more efficient and accessible. As a real estate professional, I plan to stay ahead by incorporating cutting-edge marketing strategies and leveraging social media, video content, and online platforms to better serve my clients.
Another key trend will be the growth of suburban and emerging markets. With more people seeking affordability, space, and lifestyle upgrades, I believe areas outside of major cities will see increased demand. Florida, in particular, remains a hot market for relocation and investment, and I anticipate continued growth in this region.
Interest rates, inflation, and economic conditions will continue to shape the industry, but real estate will always be a strong long-term investment. Adapting to market changes, providing exceptional client service, and staying knowledgeable about industry trends will be crucial for success.
More than ever, relationships will matter. While technology is streamlining transactions, the human connection in real estate is irreplaceable. My focus is on building trust, offering a personalized experience, and ensuring my clients feel valued beyond just the sale.
