Today we’d like to introduce you to Florida Pet Services Association
Hi Florida Pet Services Association, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
FPSA is proud to be an official 501(c)3 non-profit on the mission of promoting professionalism, providing elite education and creating and connecting professional relationships in the pet industry in the state of Florida.
We saw a need for Florida based pet companies to become an association – to vibe off of each other, support each other, learn from each other + most importantly create a community of those who TRULY understand how cool + weird Florida weather, humans + pets needs can be!
While all are welcome, this association will focus on existing businesses that are experienced and do not necessarily need the building blocks, but rather those extra layers and customization to make you truly unique.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like most great missions, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. As a volunteer-run nonprofit, one of our biggest struggles has been balancing the passion we have for the pet services industry with the time and resources available. Finding dedicated volunteers, securing sponsors, and navigating the logistics of organizing educational events and networking opportunities has been challenging — especially during hurricanes and the uncertainty of the pandemic. But every challenge has reinforced why we started this organization: to build a stronger, more connected, and better-supported pet services community in Florida. The hurdles have only made us more determined to grow, support one another, and elevate professional standards for pet care providers across the state.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the Florida Pet Services Association (FPSA), we’re dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for professional pet care providers across the state. Our members include pet sitters, dog walkers, groomers, trainers, boarding facilities, and other pet-related businesses — all committed to raising the standard of care in the industry.
What sets us apart is our focus on creating a strong, connected community where pet professionals can network, learn, and grow together. We specialize in providing industry-specific education, resources, and annual events like our Summit, designed to help members stay up-to-date on best practices, safety, business development, and pet care trends.
We’re also passionate about helping educate pet parents throughout Florida. By sharing resources, safety tips, and expert advice, we aim to empower pet owners to make informed decisions about their pets’ care and well-being.
We’re most proud of fostering collaboration over competition. Our mission is rooted in supporting small businesses and helping them thrive, while promoting professional standards that keep pets safe and cared for. By advocating for our industry and creating a platform for continued learning and connection, we’re helping pet professionals — and pet parents — across Florida elevate the level of care our beloved pets deserve.

What matters most to us at the Florida Pet Services Association (FPSA) is the well-being of pets and the success of the dedicated professionals who care for them. We believe that by supporting pet care providers through education, resources, and community connections, we help raise the standard of care across the entire industry.
Pets are family, and they deserve to be cared for by knowledgeable, compassionate professionals. That’s why we’re committed to advocating for industry standards, promoting continued learning, and helping both pet professionals and pet parents feel confident in the care their animals receive.
