Hidden Gems: Meet Judina Meus of EveryKidsHealth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Judina Meus

Hi Judina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I wasn’t always the person I am today. There was a time when I kept myself closed off, unsure who I could trust or where I belonged. I was a little mean, struggling to find real connections and facing moments when it felt like I didn’t fit in. But over time, I realized that this wasn’t the life I wanted for myself. I tried to change and feel like I was doing something meaningful, something that mattered beyond just going through each day. So, I began to give.

My passion for helping others comes from a personal connection. I was born as a preemie and given medical care and support. That experience shaped me in ways I didn’t fully understand until I got older. It fueled my dream of becoming a neonatal surgeon, of dedicating my life to helping babies who, like me, need someone to fight for them.

This passion led me to start EveryKidsHealth, where I work to support newborns and infants worldwide. Through EveryKidsHealth, I’ve raised awareness about neonatal health, raised money to donate to different foundations, and created a space where families feel supported. Knowing that my work has touched lives, even in the most minor ways, reminds me why I started this in the first place.

There’s something beautiful about doing what you love, something that makes you feel good about yourself and your work. For me, it’s not just about becoming a doctor; it’s about creating a lasting impact and knowing that my work matters. It’s about using my experience to give back, turning compassion into action, and proving that even the smallest acts of kindness can touch the lives of many.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been far from a smooth road. When I was younger, I struggled with speech problems and had to go through speech therapy. It chipped away at my confidence, making me hesitant to speak up. I avoided conversations with people who knew me well because I feared they’d remember my mistakes. This grew into stage fright, making presentations and public speaking feel impossible. But my work pushed me to what I feared most. Running a nonprofit like EveryKidsHealth meant stepping outside my comfort zone, talking to strangers, advocating for neonatal health, and putting myself out there in ways that once felt terrifying. But I taught myself to be more comfortable because if I let fear win, I’d be holding myself back from making a real difference. I practiced speaking in the mirror and worked on pronouncing difficult words. I still feel nervous when presenting, but I don’t let it stop me. My fear is nothing compared to the impact I want to make. If my words, actions, or nonprofit can change even one life, then every struggle I face will have been worth it.

As you know, we’re big fans of EveryKidsHealth. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
EveryKidsHealth is all about giving back and making a real difference in neonatal health. I started it because I’ve always loved helping others and wanted to take that passion to the next level. Our mission is to support newborns and infants while advocating for better neonatal care. We raise funds, donate essential supplies, and create initiatives impacting hospitals and families directly. For example, we partnered with Mochiry Gainesville to raise around $3oo for AdventHealth NICU, and we organized a baby supply drive with Montverde Academy Middle School, donating over 100 items to hospitals across Central Florida. What sets EveryKidsHealth apart is the personal touch; we don’t just donate; we build connections and spread awareness. I want people to know that even small actions can create a significant impact, and EveryKidsHealth proved that every effort counts when helping newborns thrive.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are many ways to support EveryKidsHealth! People can donate to help fund our initiatives, spread awareness about neonatal health, and share our name so more families and hospitals can benefit from our work. Even small actions—like telling a friend or reposting our efforts—make a huge impact. Collaboration is always welcome, whether partnering on fundraisers, organizing drives, or finding new ways to support our community!
