Meet Megan June of Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan June

Hi Megan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hello, thank you so much for having me on! So my story starts growing up in Missouri. I loved all things girly, pink, frilly, make-up, and skincare. I was very much so a girly girl, but went to a school that required uniforms and had a strict. dress code for everything down to our shoes. Color options with a school uniform were limited, so I felt like I lost a form of self-expression. Which I know sounds silly, but as someone who loves clothes and sees how I dress as a form of self-expression, I felt school uniforms limited me. I also studied ballet, which meant pink tights and a black leotard at my dance studio, so yet again another way I felt I couldn’t express myself. Though don’t get me wrong, I loved every hour I spent in the dance studio. I went to college at the University of Missouri.- Columbia (M-I-Z) and studied business administration with an emphasis in marketing. I loved that marketing allowed me to use both the analytical and creative sides of my brain. I knew Missouri wasn’t going to be long term for me, I longed for somewhere with blue skies, palm trees, and the beach. When working at my college apartment complex, I learned about the Disney College Program and moved here after graduation. I knew that Florida was going to become much more than a temporary stay for the DCP for me. I landed my corporate role after working for Disney for a year. I love my job and find it incredibly rewarding, but my job uses the analytical side of my brain. That is where ‘Hello Megan June’ was born. I created my own little corner of the internet to share all of the things I love from workwear to make-up to skincare to morning routines. Starting ‘Hello Megan June’ has allowed me a fun little side project outside of work to really hone in on my creative side and build a community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has most definitely not been a smooth road and looking for a place to put my time and energy was a huge reason in why I started Hello Megan June. In a few short months I went through a break-up, was home sick, and was struggling with what every gal in their late twenties goes through of feeling behind and wondering what they were supposed to do with their life and questioning if I was on the right track. I knew I needed to find a creative outlet and that’s really where I found the passion and drive to start Hello Megan June.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
By day, I work in Client Success and absolutely adore what I do, I find it incredibly rewarding and I think it’s super important to have a job you wake up in the morning passionate about, even when you have difficult or long days. Your passion for. your role has to be what brings you back. I am incredibly proud of the strong relationships I have built with the clients I work with, including having to navigate more difficult conversations. It’s so rewarding to navigate an escalation and get client feedback that I was great to work with and made a difficult situation easy to work through. In client success, no day is the same, and I can honestly say the new challenges that brings is one of my favorite parts of my day.

By evening, I’m building my brand. Hello Megan June is my little corner of the internet that I work on outside of my 9-5. I’m building a community of 20-30 something women looking for outfit inspiration, who love reading, have a few too many steps in their skincare routine, love roaming the isles of Sephora and Ulta, and who love a glimpse into someone’s morning/evening routine (I mean who doesn’t). I just started Hello Megan June and am so proud of the community I have already built thus far. I would love for you to follow along too if this peaks your interest!

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I am from a small town, like a very small town and my high school was in a corn field! Moving to Orlando, I love that I have the theme parks right at my finger tips, the beach is an hour away (traffic, always), our farmers markets are unbeatable, incredible local coffee shops/local vendors/restaurants/boutiques/etc. The weather here year round is beautiful, I will never take blue skies and palm trees for granted. I also love the local breweries and their unique brews and I won’t stop talking about the newest romance only book store here in Orlando. There is truly something for everyone! I will say what I like least. is the traffic and how spread out everything is (though remember I’m from a small town, so this may be normal to others!).
