Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Verrett
Hi Aaron, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in South Florida with a love for baseball. Before playing for Coastal Carolina as their shortstop, I played in Winter Haven for PCC (now Polk State). After having blood pressure issues that decreased my health and plagued me on and off the field, I went to a chiropractor who helped me reverse my high blood pressure and attain a better quality of life free from chest pain. It was then that I knew the power of a healthy nervous system and spine.
I then committed to helping others achieve maximum health in order for them to be able to pursue their God-given dreams and goals. As a result, I decided to continue my education, attending Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida.
Upon completing my degree, I moved home to Palm Beach County where I met my wife Amy and practiced for five years before moving back to Polk County. From 2016-2022 I was practicing in Lakeland, helping patients on their own personal journeys towards health while continuing my education in order to better meet the needs of the people in Polk County.
After 11 years of developing my skills, and a change in the plans we thought were set for us, Amy and I knew it was time to take a step of faith and open our own practice.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our journey wasn’t what we initially expected it to be, or the path we thought God had us on, but He has been faithful every step of the way. It was when the plans we thought we had for our future were changed outside of our control that we decided to open Cypress Chiropractic and Wellness. Thankfully, we have amazing family, friends, and patients who came alongside of us and helped us on our journey (whether through prayer, providing counsel, offering their skills to help us build/paint/get things up and running etc.).
As you know, we’re big fans of Cypress Chiropractic and Wellness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am among a handful of doctors in Florida trained in Chiropractic Biophysics® which is a highly advanced, scientific, and proven technique combining biology, physics, geometry, and anatomy. This technique looks to spinal rehabilitation and postural correction as a means, not just to address pain, but discomfort, disease, dysfunction, and altered health.
It is our goal at CCW to serve our community, helping people get healthier while focusing on wellness through our passion for corrective care, nutrition, exercise, and education all in an authentic and welcoming environment. Our staff is excited about research and learning new ways to help our patients. We have recently added Red Light Therapy and Weight Loss Programs in our office and are excited about all of the benefits our patients are experiencing!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I was blessed that when I was an associate down in West Palm Beach, I learned a lot from my boss Dr. Matt Symons. Even after I moved away, we maintained a great relationship and he has been a tremendous mentor for me as a chiropractor. So, for young chiropractors that start in a similar role, learning from those that have the experience and wisdom is very helpful. I think it is also super important to find someone that has similar values and even adjusting techniques, who has a heart for teaching and genuinely cares about you and your success.
For networking, we work alongside MRI specialists, lawyers, and medical doctors in and around our community that align with our values and attend hosted events to continue building relationships with other professionals.
