Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Halford.
Hi Elizabeth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my creative career as a makeup artist. In 2008 I picked up a camera and people started asking if they could pay me. Apparently I had “an eye” for photography from the get-go. I spent a decade covering elite weddings all around Europe with my own team of photographers and video producers. I moved back to my hometown in Florida in 2017 and while I still love couples, I pivoted to personal brand photography for businesswomen and loved every minute I spend working with them.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I was starting, my biggest pitfall, like every new photographer, was finding my own style and sticking with it. Moving from the UK to the USA after my business was finally booming and very popular was a hard choice to make. I had built quite a name for myself in the UK.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In addition to being a photographer, I’m also a brand and marketing director for large firms. I fuse my skill in content development and brand strategy with my skill as a photographer to deliver images to businesswomen to build their personal brand. I help women connect with their audiences to build rapport and help their potential clients know, like and trust them. What sets me apart is that I deliver a massive number of final images compared to others in my region. While many can only promise 50 images, I deliver a few hundred. I also make videos for my clients at no extra charge.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I have moxie. I’m not shy and I love to say yes. I have more experience than anyone else in my region and have not only been a photography practitioner but a teacher for many years.
