Conversations with Deborah Young

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deborah Young.

Deborah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Since middle school, I had always wanted to start a blog, though I did not have any ideas of names or what I would write about. It was not until a high school journalism course that I took that required every student to have a blog and some of our assignments had to b posted as a blog post for grading purposes. These courses taught me how to start a blog, what was required. I remember when I started blogging, I had many people following me, commenting, and share my blog post. After the course was done, I made the choice to continue blogging. I learned a lot about blogging while in high school. Once I started college, I made the hard choice to stop blogging and focus on my studies. In the year of 2020, I made the choice to start blogging again but this time with a brand new blog, theme, content, etc. This time I utilized social media and connected with the blogging community. Now that it has been a year of blogging, I have learned so much and I hope to continue to blog.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a little 50/50 sometimes good and sometimes bad. I have to be honesty, yes I have made mistakes along the way with blogging but what I love about the blogging community is the support and learning. Since joining the blogging community, I have been able to ask for advice and learned from many of the mistakes I have made. Not everything has been a smooth ride but I am enjoying the journey.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a lifestyle blogger. Currently, once a week I post a weekly quote or thought of the week to bring encouragement and to have a thought-provoking quote for my readers. I enjoy getting to write and post my quote or thoughts of the week. As a blogger, I don’t like to post, I enjoy getting to write down each week a blog post that represents me and my thoughts. Each blog post can be different sometimes it’s a movie review, a makeup review, a storytime post, or just a simply thought-provoking blog post.

What’s next?
I look forward to collaborating with brands and with other bloggers. I am happy to say I have already collaborated with many bloggers before and look forward to continue to collaborate with others. I hope to write more blog posts in the new year.
