Conversations with Fabiola Mistelske

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabiola Mistelske.

Hi Fabiola, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been a creative mind since I was a little girl and fell in love with the Beauty Industry since a very young age. I decided to follow my passion in the beauty industry and attended to Aveda Institute Orlando in 2017 where I obtained my Diploma in Cosmetology, while I was in school, I was part of the “Artistic Team” and travel with the team to several events such as fashion shows, special events even Opera Orlando! Where I participated in many projects with makeup application, learned new skills and networked with many other talented artists. I also experienced working with a couple of my own clients for bridal services and absolutely loved it! Right then I knew that’s what I wanted as a career! I graduated on the top of my class and obtained my Cosmetologist license right after graduation. I developed strong skills in Makeup application during school and decided to join Joe Blasco Makeup Artist Training Center in Orlando where I was taught by Joe Blasco himself and many other talented makeup educators such as Alex Lucas from Atlanta GA (Celebrity Master Makeup Artist) and Perris Hull (International Makeup Artist/Master Stylist and Educator) learning more intricate and complex techniques as well as Special Effects Makeup where I graduated with a Diploma in Professional Makeup Artistry, specializing in Beauty Makeup. I always loved helping my clients, but I was fascinated with brides! After graduation I never stopped learning, earning couple more certifications in bridal make up from the Global Makeup Academy (Master Makeup Artist Nicola Johnson) and celebrity Makeup Artist Lauren D’Amelio-Ventre where I learned how to master the art of “Bridal Makeup” Application. I have been a freelance artist since then, working with brides, fashion shows and other special events. Towards the end of 2021 I took a life changing decision, I wanted to specialize and grow my own business and that is when Fabiola Mistelske Beauty was born!

I married the love of her life, Drew in 2018, have two beautiful daughters, Agatha and Morgan, who are intrigued and eager to learn more about my business. I am always expanding, learning and growing as an artist and now as a business owner! I love helping my clients making them feel luxurious, lavish and confident on their special day! I also interact and train every new Team member to ensure the quality of the services and to make sure my Artists are always well trained and confident in their artistry.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the challenges I experienced early in my journey was the need of capital, I couldn’t move forward without having the monetary means to do it. I applied to several entities as well as banks and investors for a business loan, but I was denied almost 50 times before I was approved for my loan, once that happened, I was able to move forward with my business and my action plan.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a bridal artist. I personally specialize in bridal makeup, I love styling hair as well, updo’s and waves are my favorite thing to do on my brides’ hair! I am known for my bridal makeup applications; I have perfected my artistry after many years of experience and education. I am proud to see how far I have come, following my dream in having my own business in the one industry I love the most! and being able to train and offer job opportunities to other artists is also a dream come true! One of the things I feel sets me apart from others is passion, passion for offering the best services I can provide for my clients, passion for treating my team members with respect, passion for perfecting my artistry and never be satisfied with what I have, I am always aspiring for growing every single day in the best way I can.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
My music taste! Most people are surprised when I share this, I love Metal! I had my own band growing up, I played guitar and keyboard! loved every minute of it. I also love concerts! what can I say? I was born to be a metal head!
