Conversations with Zacc P

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zacc P.

Hi Zacc, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well, I started off as an athlete. I won two state championships in high school with Orlando Christian Prep. They didn’t really help me at all with getting to college so I emailed hundreds of collegiate coaches. I then ended up dropping out of college when I got my first record deal out in Los Angeles. I went on to work with Universal for a year on a song I wrote. Unfortunately, they didn’t really prioritize my music even though the song got millions of streams. So I moved back home and decided to be independent. I ended up having major radio success the summer before Covid-19 hit. My music did millions of streams with no label. I got verified and everything. The current day I’m a successful independent professional recording artist/model.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
NOOOO haha! The biggest struggle I faced was trying to find people in the industry that not only I could trust, but they to trust that I know what I’m doing as a creator. When I was signed in LA, I had to go outside my genre of music just to get ONE record off. Essentially I was held back and time was wasted. Aside from other people, I had to really work on my confidence after experiencing so many let downs as a kid to a young adult. As soon as I went independent and decided to believe in myself, I found those people that wanted to see me succeed.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in Urban and Rhythmic music. My music is a blend of R&B, Hip-Hop and Pop. I’m most proud that major radio like Hot97 spun my music all summer in 2020 with no label and I got that blue check. I think what sets me apart from other artists is my creativity and ability to combine all genres. Keep in mind that I write ALL my music and record and engineer myself.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Absolutely!! For starters my Dad believes in me more than anyone else. Rich Solero was the person who got me started making music. Then Sabra Wrice really kept pushing me to explore my talent a few years later. Regene Hallback now helps me with merchandising & pushing my music to the masses. Mickey Shiloh and numerous other people involved with HRDRV got me rolling independently and connected to producers and other creatives. Jospeh Nguyen and Freddie Jarrett help me with the visual stuff I post. Jeane Marie truly aided me in my process of verifying my brand. Modeling wise Anthony Smith and his agency believed in me and got me back into that industry. Erica Fraticelli and Raymond Hawkes also help manage my modeling career. Will Lee also brought me on board as a DJ/staff for the Ace League. There are numerous other people that I didn’t mention, but I am very grateful for everyone in my professional and personal life.
