Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Suber.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Owner of TaJa (Tay-Jah) Voice Productions, a business dedicated to providing exceptional voice over services. I am from Monterey Bay, California and always dreamed of using my quirky personality to entertain and motivate by using my voice.
In 2007, I graduated with a Biology degree from Johnson C Smith University and initially wanted to pursue my MD, however, I took a different route and served through customer service in the banking industry. Though the world experienced major grief in 2020, I discovered more about myself than I ever knew! I launched my podcast “Monday Motivation with Tamara.” A podcast meant to jump-start your day through motivating you under 3 minutes!
I understand what it feels like to not be confident. However, I also understand what it means to lean on God and trust Him in the midst of adversity. My confidence comes from God and I am adamant about encouraging and motivating others by using words spoken through my unique and chosen voice.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. Challenges I’ve faced along the way is rejection, comparison, negativity, self-doubt, and even the imposter syndrome just to name a few. Along with these negative connotations and thoughts, I’m able to push through and recognize I can overcome this and that I am unique and I have something different to offer this world.
Being in the voice over industry, you are constantly auditioning and portraying different characters in different roles. With that, when you submit an audition, you hope you get the part and move right along in the process. However, when that does not become the case, if you “allow” the negative thoughts to come into your mind, you will be defeated. I’ve learned self-affirmations are very encouraging yet powerful to pull you out of your negative headspace.
On this journey, you have to always remember (speaking to myself as well) that what is meant for you is meant for you and no one can take it from you and when it’s your season and time, you will prosper and flourish in it and no one can stop it!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What I do is that I have a business dedicated to providing exceptional voice over services. I specialize in audio commercials for films, short story audiobooks and audio introductions.
I’m known for having a young unique sound that is brought to the table amongst others.
I’m most proud of by the grace of God, is having the opportunity to do a short story children’s audiobook that was produced in late summer of (2021) now featured on Amazon. The books is called “Emily D. and the Fearful First Day” written and illustrated by Sivan Hong which can be found on her website: www.sivanhong.com. The audiobook can be purchased worldwide and was produced audibly by Peter from Pinto Media.
What sets me apart is that I have a unique welcoming sound to my voice. By the grace of God, I am blessed with a voice that sounds young, pleasant and delightful to the ear of the listener with a range.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Resources that help me do my best in life is first and foremost is the Bible. The Bible helps me stay grounded and helps me examine my decisions, motives and actions up against the word of God and see if it lines up. As far as books, I love any type of affirmational or self-help books on living, mindsets, generational wealth, relationships, etc. A podcast I love to listen to is by Sarah Jakes Roberts-called Woman Evolve, shout out to the Delegation crew!
