Life & Work with Yoshi Pantera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yoshi Pantera.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
By observing the patterns of society, it became evident that the world is coming to a global collapse. Many, if not all systems of the world are degenerative. From social, political, economic, and educational systems to food, water, waste, environmental systems. Degenerative systems literally do not help create more life, but rather destroy and kill life. We sadly live in a degenerative world.

Around 2007 is where I began to question every single aspect of existence. To the point, I became really angry at the world and eventually depressed. By 2009, I became more literate about what actions to take in order to start creating a new world. Not many people understood what I was talking about. To be honest, I lost many friends and family thinking I was some sort of conspiracy theorist or confused citizen. Living in San Francisco California it was very surprising to me that there were not too many folks with an actual open and conscious mind.

I realized that I could not wait for any president or leader to make changes for a better world. It came to the point that I had to take action myself. So, I completely, slowly yet quickly, transformed my life in every possible way before I begin to take larger actions.

I radically transformed my apartment and everything in it. Making more inspiring. Then, the single most radical large-scale action I took, was to stop eating animals. I became “vegan” before I even knew the word existed and become popular. I learned that eating animals was a huge contributor to climate crises and the disconnection of humans with animals and overall nature.

After I began with my inner and outer healing plus personal actions like reducing waste, recycling, becoming volunteer at many “green” projects, I realized that there has to be more than just doing this. I saw many people working hard in helping passing bills and new laws for eco-friendly actions like creating city bike lanes as well as animal activists helping shutting down factory farms and furthermore about having protests for human rights. Even though I appreciate all this work, I didn’t feel we were going anywhere or moving too much.

It clicked to me one day that everything in this reality is created by us humans. We build everything. So, I felt the awakening that I can also help build an entire new reality. This means that everything we know of today may become obsolete. I grew up in my grandparent’s farm in Ecuador and remembered that we barely went to the store, we had almost everything ourselves. WE had our own water sources and all types of foods. This was an indicator that we do not need of the industrial, corporate government systems in order to live. So, I realized, I had to begin studying to build a new eco-city.

I went back to college in 2010 to study and become a future engineer in renewable energy. I was very excited about finally knowing what I want to study and why. I did not know what to study or what to do about my life until then. College was very disappointing to me after I found out that it was going to take me from 6 – 8 years to graduate. Due to the fact that I had study a lot of basic general education. I did learn a lot and loved my teachers, but after 2 years studying there, I dropped out. And I am so glad I did.

I immediately began to study permaculture. The science to design systems or more like ecosystems. Something they don’t teach you at any school or university. I became mind blown and obsessed with it. With permaculture, you can design every aspect of human life taking into account every life in your surrounding environment. You can design your homesteading, farm, neighborhood, and even an entire city.

While all this is happening, I founded Collective Wave in 2009. Collective Wave is a group of talented individuals that love to produce transformational events for people, plus to design and execute projects that help regenerate Mother Earth.

Since then, we have started Tropicana Music Event, Flora Plant-Based Cuisine, Seeds Transcendence, Sikuanga Ecovillage, Regenerative Culture Podcast, and more to come.

These projects help accelerate the process of inspiration and awakening into actual living the solutions to today’s world’s crisis.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. One of the challenges yet learning experiences is to finding, producing, and collecting the funds to invest in these regenerative projects.

The most challenging of all situations of this growth is to establish community. To find and engage with a collective of like-minded passionate people that have the power to take action and curious to learn our maximum potential as individuals and community.

We consistently keep coming across personal challenges in which we help each other break through, heal and move forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I feel that I am a “jack of all trades”. I learned a lot in life and somehow manage use most of what I learn when I remember though.

I love to design, produce and execute events in order to create unforgettable experiences for people.

I am passionate about designing spaces with permaculture principles and tools.

I am a plant-based vegan chef with of 20 years of working in the restaurant industry.

I really enjoy podcasting. I feel it is my calling during these times of information manipulation.

I love to write and express poetry as well as musical tracks.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
It is astonishing that most of the population of the world chooses to be ignorant about the inner power that we humans all have and let ourselves to be controlled only because we are afraid or just too comfortable.

I have no intention to judge people, but it is very surprising to know that people will get vaccinated even against their will, just because they are afraid to lose their job, or any other action the government prohibits them to do.

I mainly learned that everything I have been doing these past years has helped prepare for current times.

Learning to become self-sufficient and resilient is a basic must-do action.

It is evident and has even been publicly announced that we are facing a new world order to be controlled in every way possible. Covid-19 has been only part of the agenda in order to submit our power to the elite, technocratic and plutocratic culture.
