Meet Gina Lombardi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Lombardi.

Hi Gina , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Let me take you on a journey back in time to how it all started.

Back in 2014 I moved from a small town in Florida up to Orlando, where I was worked in the hospitality industry for over a decade.

I worked in various jobs serving my community, even at one point working for the mouse himself, that’s right our pal Mickey Mouse.

I enjoyed connecting new friends and guests in my community to all my favorite attractions, restaurants & even the best Florida beaches.

While I loved working in the hospitality industry something for myself was always missing I craved more.

I didn’t realize that the journey was about to start, then about 6 years ago I met my best friend and now fiancé, this huge door opened where I had the opportunity to move across country and start something totally new life, create new memories and broaden my mind to a whole different world other than Florida.

On May 5th, 2016 I packed up on things and moved across country to Salt Lake City Utah, where I lived for about 3 years,
Living here was different as you can image, and cold haha, but I was up to discovery something new.
Here in Utah is where I first immersed myself in spirituality, Buddhism, and meditation.
A times it truly challenged me, even to this day, but I was growing as a person.
So as you can tell so far I how I came but with the Buddha part in my name, it had become a huge part in my growth, I loved the positive outlook it gave me, to finding peace, & even healing.

So too fast forward a bit, when I was living on the west coast I traveled all over, I loved seeing so many beautiful places, I knew I love traveling then, I just didn’t know how I could incorporate it into my life.

While in 2017,
I found myself back in Florida working back in the hospitality industry, I was working long hours, I wasn’t happy, I was becoming burnt out, I wanted to quit so bad and sell everything I had and become a backpacker, but I couldn’t leave my responsibilities, so for the next two years we’re a blur of working, hustling day in and day out saving money, to finally in 2019 be laid off due to covid-19.
I left like this was a huge opportunity I didn’t want to waste I was being given, time to either transform and build the life I truly wanted or go back to what was safe.
For the next year I went through every obstacle you could image, but still I had no idea what I was set on this earth to do.
Not until we took our trip to Hawaii in 2021, that I was filled with excitement, & motivation to come back and start my page, to combine my two loves, travel & food.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely has not been a smoother ride at all.

In this industry you are constantly asked to adapt and at times and it be extremely competitive. But that is the driving force I use each and every day.

Even though the road has been tough finding new and exciting ways to push myself and perfect my craft, has allowed not only my page but myself to grow in ways I couldn’t image.

During hard times I try and find outlets like meditation, friend or family support to ground into which has helped me tremendously when I am battling through each obstacle, to remember why I started in the first place, and just have fun!

As my page & myself continue to grow I will see others perfecting their craft or growing their following faster, more likes on their posts and can sometimes be doubtful if my work is just as good, but I have to stop and remember that no one is perfect that everyone journey is different, everyone start to finish is not the same & building a community is hard.

I do want to say to anyone out there who is struggling or having a hard time building their business to keep pushing through, that you can succeed all you have to do is believe in yourself.
All the tools you seek are all around you & even inside you.
I recommend finding a supportive group to keep you going and remember that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As I mentioned I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for over a decade so you can say that hospitality is my sweet spot. Even as a kid traveling around the world, seeing different cultures, trying new food, meeting new people and building a relationship always stuck with me.

I knew that stepping outside of that industry and finding a way to truly have an impact and help others is where I wanted to be.

My mission is to help others live their best life by connecting them to the world around us so on my page I love photographing delicious food, art, and amazing sites from all over.
While I am photographing it I always try to think outside the box and find new innovating ways to put my twist on it and make it fun.
While not only do I photograph it but explaining to my viewers recommendations and tips on what I did when exploring to help make it easier on them when it’s their turn to check it out for themselves.

When I worked in the hospitality serving others, I was constantly being reached out for help on how they could make the most of their vacation and I loved doing that.
So now having this page I can share my knowledge on a larger scale, which makes me so happy and proud to know that I am helping so many out there, live their life to the fullest.

One thing that I am currently working on is finding ways to build relationships with all the businesses I love because if I think they’re petty cool, I want others to know so too.
We all see the photos of the food, but what I want is to share the faces of who is behind the food, because their impact on our community is just as important as all the flavors we taste.
I truly believe community is important and that is what makes living pretty great is having people to share it with.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
As of this time, I do not have a website but I am in the process of creating one. While if anyone would love to reach out or work with me they can contact me directly through email.
Also, I am excited to announce that am working on developing a podcast for others to listen to.
So I can connect to my community on multiple channels.

In the meantime, if you want to find me you can head over to my Instagram page @buddhaa_belly that’s where all the magic happens.
