Today we’d like to introduce you to Melanie Snyder.
Hi Melanie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I first started being a part of the wedding industry when I was 19 years old, working for a wedding planner in North Carolina. Once I graduated, I moved down to Florida and have been planning weddings here for six years. Being a Certified Wedding Planner through The Bridal Society has given me the knowledge to grow and really bring a personalized experience to my couples while helping them plan their dream wedding. I am so thankful for my family, friends, couples, and vendors as they are truly the reason I am where I am at today with MPED.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning a business definitely has its bumps. I honestly never saw myself owning my own business when I was thinking about my future. While most days are definitely smooth sailing, there are days that are not and 2020 was a whole new curveball that got thrown at everyone. COVID was tough on the wedding industry and honestly, there were days that I was scared I wouldn’t be able to make it to see the other side of it. However, COVID also really brought the wedding industry together more than ever and we were all able to help each other out to make sure we all made it to where we are at now.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Personally, I specialize in weddings and personal events. While I have done corporate in the past, weddings is really where my heart goes. I love creating unique and special days that my couples have dreamed about forever. I call my couples the “modern romantics,” and I am so lucky to be a part of their love story. I think what really sets me apart is the personalized and tailored experience each and every one of my couples get when it comes to planning their wedding. They all become family and I am always sad to say goodbye to them at the end of their wedding day. I miss them so much all of the time!
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is seeing all of the pieces come together on the wedding day and then seeing my couples’ faces light up with joy. Not everyone gets to say they make dreams happen for a living. It is so rewarding to say that I get to make those dreams come true and I really am blessed with the best job in the world.
