Today we’d like to introduce you to Tainna Alcocer.
Hi Tainna, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey to help with my mental health.
I became a stay-at-home after my son was in the process of being diagnosed with Autism. I decided to dedicate myself to be the best mom for my son. The constant therapy visits, doctors’ appointments, tests, would not be tolerated by any 9 to 5 job.
After a couple years my mental health started taking a toll. I suffer from Severe Depression and Anxiety since I was 15.
After spending many sleepless nights on social media and YouTube, I decided that maybe I needed a hobby to help me cope and stay busy.
And here we are today!
In doing what I do, I stay busy and I get to create pieces that many love. This journey has helped me drastically in my mental health and most important thing of all, I get to be there for my son.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No smooth road at all!
It’s hard to start a business when you don’t really know anyone. Therefore, I spend most of my time advertising in social media to get the world to see my art.
I would be lying if I said I have not thought about quitting and stopping.
But when you have found a passion for something, you somehow make it work.
And that is not including all the failed attempts on my pieces, lol.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make handmade Resin Pieces.
I make tiny pieces such as earrings to larger pieces such as table tops.
The name “Unfiltered” comes from the fact that everyone is unique. I make my art based on you!
I do not have a particular art style, as I am very open with creating. I can create something super cute, as I also can create something that for some need to be censored.
I am recently known for my mason jar glass cups, lol. I have made quite a few impressions with them and people love them since they get to put what they want!
And that is what I am most proud of, that I get to make art in a functional way that brings happiness to someone in their own way!
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
It is very important for me to stay true to myself. And I hope that as staying as so, I can in the future be successful!
