Today’s Artist of the Day features an interview with Karina Michel. Please find our conversation below.
We’re always amazed and inspired by the creatives in the community and we’re so excited to have a chance to ask you some fun questions today. To start, can you bring our readers up to speed on you and your work?
I’m Karina Michel – I’ve been in the business for quite a while acting, producing and writing. I would say our mission is always consistent producing “film that matters”. Whether that’s in an educational way through documentaries or telling stories that need to be told through film and tv.
Who (or what) has your work been inspired by? Do you hope your work inspires others? If so, what message do you want them to be inspired by?
Oprah has always inspired me since a very young age. I watched them all every day after school; I learned a lot on that show! (laughs) I was always inspired by her story and her goals. She wasn’t born into the perfect situation and had to overcome a lot to get to where she is. I still will occasionally listen to her Super Soul Podcast on my walks. Also, Tyler Perry… I had the chance to visit his studios in Atlanta last week. It’s an amazing place and again, I am very inspired by his journey.
