Hi Alvin, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I am a morning person so I arrive at the studio ready to go! The start is smooth and consists on turning all electronics on. I take my lunch in the early afternoon and at the end of the day, I leave everything prepared and ready for the next day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Alvin and the hair industry has been a part of my life for a very long time. Come check out Cerrud Studio; a place where you can optimize/maintain your appearance at the highest level.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
Early in my career, I was told I had a great eye/vision for performing quality haircuts but my friend/mentor “Grande” helped me understand the discipline and consistency aspect of the industry.
Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
I miss working with my Dominican friends in Orlando’s east side. The music, conversations, activities were unmatched.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie is that there is only “one right way” to be successful. I have met many successful individuals in this industry and they all do things differently.
