Alvin, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Who are you learning from right now?
I learn from everyone who sits in my chair. That said, I have clients in their late 70s and early 80s who are a wealth of wisdom and life experience. I’m constantly inspired by the knowledge they share.

My name is Alvin from Cerrud Studio. I specialize in high-end, detailed hair grooming services. I focus on delivering precision and personalized care, ensuring that each client receives the attention they deserve. My goal is to make every client feel their best, offering services that blend artistry with technical expertise.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My colleague and mentor, Grande, has had the biggest influence on my professional life. I learned an incredible amount from him—both in terms of technical skill and work ethic.
Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
I miss my uncle. He passed away during the pandemic, and not a day goes by that I don’t think about him.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The collectivist spirit of Latin American culture is something I deeply value. Even though life gets busy and distance separates us, I stay in close contact with my family and offer help however I can.
