Alexus Edge shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Alexus , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, what’s been bringing me the most joy is reconnecting with my playful, free-spirited side. I’ve been attending local edm events hosted by friends who happen to be amazing djs, and music festivals! I love being in that energy, dancing, feeling the music, and being surrounded by people who are fully expressing themselves—it’s honestly healing. I also love spending quality time with my friends, having real conversations, laughing, and making memories. And on a slower note, I’ve been creating cozy moments at home with my kids, crafting, working out to feel good, and being intentional about protecting my peace outside of work. It’s all about balance for me.. joy, movement, connection, and a little sparkle.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Alexus, an Orlando native and based beauty entrepreneur, salon owner, and confidence coach. I specialize in hair extensions, toppers and holistic hair restoration for women with thinning, fine and fragile hair in my private studio, Glamour Studio Salon. But my work goes deeper than just beauty and hair—I help women feel magnetic, elevated, and fully expressed from the inside out. I serve my community by helping women feel confident within themselves, and love the way they look. With non surgical hair replacements, techniques like mesh integration, toppers, and multiple hair extensions applications; I am skilled at choosing the right methods for my guest paired with holistic treatments to help achieve a natural look that’s healthy for the scalp and wears comfortably. I take my profession really seriously because I’m serving women who are suffering from medical conditions that affect their hair, fine and fragile hair, and women who care about taking time to care for themselves. It’s truly rewarding for me and my clients, I see that as a win-win!
I also run Bloom by Alexus, my coaching and digital education brand, where I mentor beauty and wellness pros who are ready to grow their income and confidence—without burnout. Through my GLAM Method (Glamorize, Luxuriate, Attract, Maximize), I show creatives how to confidently step into their CEO energy and create aligned success in their business and life.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding both brands with digital products, in-person trainings, and curated coaching experiences that help women shine in every room they walk into, on and offline.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I realized that my prayers were always being answered. Even as a little girl, I had this deep inner knowing that I was magnetic… that I could think of something, pray for it, and somehow it would show up. I didn’t have the language for it back then, but looking back, I was manifesting. And I felt seen by God…like the universe was always listening to me and co-creating with me. That made me feel safe, chosen, and powerful beyond what anyone could explain. That spiritual connection has stayed with me. Even now, when I tap into that energy, I remember just how powerful I really am.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me to slow down and listen to myself in a way success never did. It cracked me open, forced me to be honest about the parts of me I ignored, and reminded me that I am still worthy, even when things are messy, uncertain, or painful. Success made me feel accomplished, but suffering made me feel human! It showed me the power of softness, of grace, of choosing to rise when it would’ve been easier to shut down. It deepened my compassion for others and gave me a level of emotional intelligence and spiritual strength that you can’t fake or buy. I don’t glorify the pain, but I honor what it built in me.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That burnout is the badge of honor. That in order to be successful in the beauty industry, you have to hustle 24/7, take every client, say yes to everything, and wear exhaustion like it’s part of the uniform. I think that mindset is outdated and harmful. Period!
The truth is, real success is sustainable. You can build a high income, high impact brand while protecting your peace and being selective about how and where you give your energy. You don’t have to be everything to everyone to be valuable. You just need alignment, boundaries, and the confidence to run your business your way … not the way the industry told you it has to be.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say I made them feel seen, inspired, and more confident in who they truly are. That I didn’t just build businesses, I built people up. I hope the story is about a woman who turned her pain into purpose, who poured love and vision into everything she touched, and who made space for others to bloom by being fully herself.
I want to be remembered as someone who led with heart, who wasn’t afraid to evolve, and who helped others believe in their own power. That even in my softness, I was strong. And even in my success, I stayed soul-led. That I lived beautifully, gave boldly, and left the world more lit-up than I found it.
