We’re looking forward to introducing you to Genesis Margolis. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Genesis, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Learning languages! My Duolingo streak for Brazilian Portuguese is almost at a full year. I even purchased a workbook to gather a deeper understanding of the grammar and vocabulary.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Genesis Margolis, the lady behind @FastandtheFoodiest on Instagram and TikTok. This page is a place to highlight businesses, small and large, to celebrate their food creations. While based in Florida, I frequently post about out-of-state and international bites I and my FATF Fam find along the way.
Occasionally, I even share my homemade bakes and meals because it’s all about balance!
Aside from being a major foodie, I’m a singer and marketing professional.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents and grandparents are my greatest teachers in all areas – especially in the workforce. I come from a lineage of entrepreneurs where you put your all into what you do, while still putting family first. Travel for work was something normal for my family growing up, and this allowed “Bring Your Kid to Work Day” to happen more than once a year. The best way to learn anything is to be fully immersed, whether that be a language or trade. I’m eternally grateful to have had these experiences from an early age!
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
My family is my biggest blessing. They are empathetic, caring, and always ready to listen. It’s vital to have a strong support system, especially during the infancy stages of a project.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
It’s important to look at history to see what has come and gone. The first thing that comes to mind are fashion trends. Some things, like a basic black dress, are always a classic look. Things that are timeless stay firm for decades. Fads last for a few days, weeks, or months. When the timeless starts to change, that’s the key differentiator.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
When I keep Jesus Christ first. He is the most important thing in my life. Without Him, I have and am nothing! It’s a daily practice that is moment by moment.
