We recently had the chance to connect with Jasmyne Sippio and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Jasmyne , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
I am currently an elementary art teacher, so a typical day for me is waking up early arriving to school and working with my students. I teach grades kinder- 6th and I wouldn’t change a thing about my career. I also take time for my art business, so I’m posting content, tending to customers creating more crafts, and participating in local vendor events.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jasmyne Sippio, and I am an elementary art teacher for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. In addition to my teaching role, I run my own art business called Sipp of Art, a name that cleverly incorporates my last name while reflecting my unique identity. What sets my brand apart is its embodiment of my personality; the creations I offer are not only sentimental and inspirational but also infused with a sense of fun. With a vibrant, artsy aesthetic, Sipp of Art invites everyone to embrace their creativity and pursue their artistic dreams.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My mother taught me the most about the value of hard work. Watching her growing up was truly inspirational. She demonstrated perseverance, dedication, and the importance of never giving up. She always encouraged me to follow my dreams and to pursue what makes me genuinely happy—advice that continues to guide me today. In addition to that, she has always pushed me to continue the faith in God no matter what, because he has brought me so far and continues to bless me and my business.
As a child, I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. My love for animals is strong, but I eventually realized that certain aspects of that career would be emotionally difficult for me to handle. Over time, I discovered that my true passion lies in art. With the support and encouragement of my mom and family, I chose to follow that path.
My mother’s example taught me that anything worth having doesn’t come easily, but with hard work, passion, and dedication, it will always be worth it.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Honestly, my biggest fear has been putting myself out there — especially promoting myself. As an artist, your work feels so personal, so it can be scary to share it with the world. But I’ve been learning that stepping out of my comfort zone is how I grow. The more I do it, the more confidence I gain in what I have to offer.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
If you asked my friends, they’d say what matters most to me are the things that fill my life with love and creativity — my pets who bring me joy, my students who inspire me, my art that lets me express myself, and the people I care about most. I pour my heart into everything I do, and it really shows.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I only had 10 years left, the first thing I’d stop doing is doubting myself. I’d fully believe in my abilities, trust my creativity, and go after every idea and dream without hesitation. Life is too short to hold yourself back with fear or self-doubt.
