Jenn Dickel shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Jenn, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, I’ve been bringing new life to a broken stained-glass lampshade by transforming it into a wind chime for a friend. It’s a sentimental piece from her late aunt, and she couldn’t bear to throw it away. I offered to reimagine it, and it’s been both a challenge and a joy. Right now, I’m still in the (longer-than-expected) deconstruction phase while dreaming up how it will come together.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jenn, an OBM and Operations Specialist on a mission to help entrepreneurs ditch the overwhelm and run their businesses like well-oiled machines. I’m all about smart systems, seamless workflows, and solutions that actually stick—sprinkled with a bit of cheek because business should be fun, too. My secret sauce? Blending strategy with heart so my clients can scale without burning out.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a kid, I believed being a powerful, successful businesswoman meant wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase. Now I know true power comes from confidence, clarity, and building a business that reflects who you are—and using your strengths to create real impact for others.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes—about a year ago, I hit a crossroads that made me question everything. The business needed major changes that aligned with the future I want, which meant making tough calls like reducing staff and shifting service offerings. It was scary, especially with personal uncertainties in the mix, but I chose to bet on myself and my vision. Those decisions ended up transforming my business in ways I couldn’t have imagined—and taught me that sometimes the hardest pivots lead to the most powerful growth.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
That confidence is a mindset, not a destination. You don’t just “arrive” one day—it’s more like a muscle you work out, especially when life or business decides to throw you a plot twist.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes—welcome to entrepreneurial life. No one’s standing there with a trophy, and the applause is… nonexistent. It can feel like a sea of indecision and an endless to-do list, but that’s where the magic happens—you learn to clap for yourself, trust your vision, and keep going until the results speak louder than any audience ever could.
