An Inspired Chat with Susana Porto of Mount Dora Fl

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Susana Porto. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Susana, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: When was the last time you felt true joy?
I believe I’ve had several very special moments in my life, in different areas—professionally, as a woman, and within my family. This moment is one of them, because three months ago I became a mother for the third time. It’s even more special because this time I had a daughter. All my life I dreamed of being the mother of a girl, and now that dream has come true. It has been a completely different and beautiful experience. I feel so happy and fulfilled with my baby girl, and now my family feels complete. For me, family is the most important thing in my life.

At the same time, this stage has given me a broader vision for the future. Motherhood has reminded me of my strength and resilience, and it has awakened in me the desire to go further than before. In my professional path, where I support women and families in their emotional healing and restoration, I also feel called to expand my impact. I see this as a season not only to celebrate what I’ve achieved, but also to embrace new challenges, broaden my horizons, and inspire others to believe that new beginnings are always possible.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
From a very young age, I have carried in my heart the spirit of an entrepreneur and the vision of a dreamer. I started by selling candy at school and, over the years, I went on to create a children’s training center that still operates today in my hometown. I have always been driven by the desire to create new opportunities, build something meaningful, and transform ideas into reality. That same passion for innovation has guided my career and continues to inspire me today.
Currently, I work as a Life Coach and Psychologist, with a special focus on the Latin American community. My mission is to walk alongside individuals and families in their emotional challenges, helping them rediscover their strengths and embrace a renewed sense of purpose. I deeply believe in restoration and personal growth, and I bring that conviction into every session, conference, and workshop I lead.
Beyond my professional practice, I am also the founder of the Make a Way for Children foundation, dedicated to supporting children and families. Through this work, we have been able to impact more than 500 families facing emotional struggles. My journey has also taken me to different churches, schools, and women’s events across Latin America, where I share messages about family restoration and the power of faith to heal and unite.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
For a long time, I didn’t have good thoughts about myself, and I struggled with that. As a child, I received several negative messages that made me believe I wasn’t capable, that I lacked skills and value. This mindset led me to create defense mechanisms, hiding behind a false identity and building walls in my relationships out of fear of being hurt.

Today, I no longer carry those lies. I have embraced my true identity, and I now know that I am enough—I am worthy, powerful, and confident. Living from this place of truth has allowed me to find my happiness and purpose, and it inspires me to help other women discover the same freedom and healing for themselves.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self: “You are worthy. The negative things you believe about yourself are not true. You are not a problem—you are beautifully made. The imperfections you notice are not in you, but often in the way others see themselves. Never forget that you are enough, just as you are. And remember, nothing is impossible when you believe in yourself, trust God, and work toward your dreams”

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies my industry tells itself is that healing is only about treating symptoms or teaching people to “move on.” True healing is not about forgetting pain, but about transforming it into strength. Another lie is that therapy is only for people who are broken, when in reality, it’s for anyone who wants to grow, prevent emotional wounds, and live more fully.

I also see a false divide between psychology and faith—as if they cannot coexist. In my experience, when the two come together, they bring a more complete and powerful path to restoration. And perhaps the most damaging lie of all is the belief that strong people don’t need help. Asking for help is not weakness—it’s courage, and it’s often the first step toward true freedom and transformation.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people tell the story of a woman who inspired others to heal, grow and follow Jesus. That I built a loving family and that my children feel proud to continue the legacy I left, helping others discover their true identity.
