We’re looking forward to introducing you to Anduy Goliat Sanchez. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Anduy , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I am most proud of building is something few people ever see; the patience, resilience, and quiet faith that have carried me through uncertainty. Behind every achievement, there’s been a process of learning to trust myself, to keep showing up even when progress felt invisible. I have built an inner foundation that reminds me that purpose isn’t something you find overnight; it is something you cultivate, day by day, through reflection, mistakes, and a lot of persistence.
I am also proud of the relationships I have built along the way, my students, mentors, and community members who’ve allowed me to grow through service and art. Whether it is helping a new student develop his or her artistic skills, painting something that speaks to someone’s story, or standing beside others in advocacy, those quiet connections are the real legacy I hope to leave. They may not make headlines, but they shape lives, and that, to me, is the most meaningful kind of success.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Anduy Goliat. I am a visual artist originally from Mérida, Venezuela, and now based in Orlando, Florida. My journey with art began when I was a child and grew into a passion that led me to teaching, exhibiting locally and internationally, and eventually creating my own project, Goliat Art Studio.
What makes my work special is the way it blends realism with storytelling. I strive not only to capture detail but also to reflect identity, culture, and the human experience. Over the years, I have had the privilege of showcasing my art at local, national, and international exhibitions, while also building an online academy that connects students from different countries.
At the heart of everything I do is the belief that art can build bridges between people and communities. Right now, I am focused on expanding that mission: continuing to share my artwork, teaching through my academy and in partnership with other programs and creating projects that celebrate cultural heritage while inspiring others to explore their own creativity.
As a young artist and professor, I believe deeply in the power of motivating others to explore their own talents. Through my story, both my successes and my mistakes, I want to show that it does not matter where you come from or how you start; if you believe in your talent and nurture it, you can go far.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that truly shaped how I see the world was when I had to leave Venezuela during the crisis and move abroad. It was one of the hardest decisions of my life, leaving behind my family, my home, and everything I knew. At first, I felt lost, but art gave me a sense of direction. Teaching again, meeting new students, and realizing that my drawings could inspire people even in a different country showed me that talent has no borders. That experience taught me that no matter how difficult life becomes, if you hold on to your passion and share it with others, it can transform challenges into opportunities.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Several times, actually. We often think that pursuing a dream with our talent is a straight path, but in reality, it is more like a rollercoaster, full of highs, lows, and moments when you seriously doubt yourself. There were times when I questioned my own abilities and even faced people who made me doubt my growth. But I learned that for any dream, project, or goal to succeed, you have to give your all and stay committed in the long run. I chose to let go of anything that did not serve my journey and focus on moving forward. Today, that is the message I share with my students: believe in your talents, embrace the journey, and never give up on your dreams.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the art world tells itself is that talent alone is enough to succeed. While talent is important, real success comes from persistence, continuous learning, taking risks, and building meaningful connections. Another common misconception is that recognition or success has to happen quickly. It is easy to think that if you are not “discovered” right away, you are failing. In reality, growth as an artist is rarely linear; it takes time, patience, and the willingness to embrace mistakes and setbacks as part of the journey.
Another myth is that art is only valuable if it is commercially successful or widely praised. I have learned that the most meaningful work is the kind that connects with people, inspires others, and stays true to your vision, regardless of immediate recognition. You also do not need an Instagram account with millions of followers to be successful. The true purpose is sharing your art and enjoying the creative process. Too often, we lose ourselves chasing views or fame instead of focusing on what we love most. In the end, the most important thing is to remain authentic to your creations and your purpose beyond external validation.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
I would regret not following my dreams and purpose, and I am not just talking about art. If you have other dreams or passions, it is important to pursue them fully. I have always been the type of person to explore opportunities in multiple areas, believing that growth comes from embracing different paths. In addition to my work as an artist, I have pursued professional goals in the social and political fields. I am currently in my junior year at the University of Central Florida, working toward a bachelor’s degree in international relations and nonprofit management. My aim is to contribute to nonprofit organizations and develop projects and programs that empower communities, especially those that have not had the same opportunities to succeed.
For me, following dreams is about more than personal achievement; it is about creating impact, inspiring others, and showing that with dedication, talent, and resilience, it is possible to pursue multiple passions and make a difference in the world. I hope to continue bridging my artistic vision with social impact, using both to leave a meaningful legacy and encourage others to chase their own dreams, no matter how challenging the path may seem.
