We recently had the chance to connect with CEO Eric Hylick & Sakeisha Hylick and have shared our conversation below.
Eric & Sakeisha, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would hire me — without hesitation. I bring a combination of strategic thinking, consistency, and execution that delivers results. I don’t just talk vision; I turn ideas into infrastructure, processes, and outcomes. I’m dependable, adaptable, and I lead with integrity. When problems show up, I don’t freeze — I innovate, adjust, and find solutions that move the mission forward.
I’d hire me because I’m the kind of person who makes organizations better: I build, I collaborate, I elevate teams, and I follow through. My work ethic, creativity, and commitment to excellence make me an asset in any environment. If I were on the other side of the table, I’d consider myself exactly the type of person I’d want on my team.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Eric Hylick, and I’m the Founder, Chairman, and I’m CEO of Build Network TV (BNTV), a global streaming and media ecosystem designed to help people build strong families, strong businesses, and strong legacies—without breaking what matters most.
I come from a background of 26+ years in business and cloud architecture, but my true passion is creating platforms that transform lives. BNTV is unique because it blends entertainment, business education, faith, personal development, and emerging technology all under one roof. We’re not just streaming content—we’re building an entire digital universe where creators, families, and entrepreneurs can grow, learn, and thrive.
Our network is available on every major platform—Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, Samsung, iPhone, iPad, Android, and WebTV—and we’re expanding into innovative spaces like Web3, AI, and our immersive metaverse: BNTV World.
What makes our story special is simple: we’re purpose-driven. My wife, Dr. Sakeisha, and I started as HBCU sweethearts at FAMU with a desire to help people win in life and business. Today, we’re building one of the fastest-growing, positive, legacy-focused media networks in the country.
Right now, we’re working on major original shows, national events, global partnerships, and a powerful creator ecosystem that puts ownership back into the hands of people who deserve it.
At the heart of everything we do is one mission: to empower people to build—without breaking what matters most.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One of the most defining moments of my life came from an encounter with God that I share in my book, A Quest For Truth. It wasn’t loud, dramatic, or theatrical—it was a moment of clarity that broke through years of questions, pressure, and the weight of trying to build my life through sheer willpower.
In that moment, God confronted me with truth—not the truth I had been taught to repeat, but the truth about my identity, my purpose, and who I was called to become. It was as if everything around me went still, and the only thing that mattered was the voice of God showing me the difference between who I thought I had to be and who He created me to be.
That encounter shifted my entire perspective. It taught me that success without alignment is exhausting, and purpose without God’s direction is empty. From that day forward, I began to see the world through a different lens—not just through ambition, but through assignment. Not just through work, but through calling.
That moment became the foundation of how I lead, build, and serve today. It’s why BNTV exists. It’s why I focus on legacy, family, identity, and purpose. When God reveals truth, you don’t just change direction—you change destiny. And that encounter set mine in motion.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“You don’t have to carry everything alone. God’s got you, purpose is already written, and you are more than enough for the life you’re called to build.”
I’d remind him that every challenge is shaping strength, every delay is developing character, and every setback is preparing a comeback. I’d tell him to trust the journey, lean into his truth, protect his heart, and know that the man he becomes will make it all worth it.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes—what you see publicly is absolutely who I am, but it’s not all of who I am. The version people see reflects my values, my faith, my drive, and my commitment to helping others build strong lives and strong legacies. That part is 100% real.
But like anyone who has lived, learned, and evolved, there are layers the public doesn’t always see—the quiet moments with God, the battles no one knows about, the doubts I had to push through, and the discipline it took to become the man I am today.
I show up publicly with purpose, intention, and excellence, because I believe leadership requires both authenticity and responsibility. I don’t pretend, I don’t perform—I present who I truly am, but with the maturity that comes from growth and the wisdom that comes from experience.
So yes, the public version of me is real
just refined, focused, and aligned with the mission God gave me.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I’ve come to understand the reality of the unseen world—the place where God moves, speaks, and shapes destiny long before anything shows up in the natural. Most people only trust what they can touch, measure, or explain. But I’ve learned that the deepest truths, the biggest battles, and the greatest breakthroughs happen in the invisible realm first.
When you’ve had encounters with God, you realize life is more than strategy, hustle, or talent. There’s a spiritual order governing everything. Purpose isn’t random. Identity isn’t accidental. And doors don’t open just because you push—they open because God aligns the unseen to make the impossible possible.
Understanding that has changed the way I build, lead, and live. I don’t just make decisions based on what I see—I make them based on what’s been revealed. I’ve learned to discern the difference between noise and direction, between distraction and assignment.
Most people react to life.
I respond to what God is doing behind the scenes.
And that understanding has been the key to every breakthrough, every shift, and every step of alignment in my journey.
