Check Out Ashley Kemp’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Kemp.

Hi Ashley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started out in 2018, just doing my own nails to save money. In high school and all through college, I was known for very fancy and eccentric nails. Most times, I would leave my bi-weekly nail appointment having very easily spent upwards of $90. My senior year of college, while trying to cut expenses, I purchased a very small, beginner level nail kit and started doing my own nails. Friends of mine started noticing my designs, and naturally they would ask where did I get my nails done. I told them I did them myself. Eventually, my friends started to come to me for nails and they would tell their friends and family. It got to a point where my phone was constantly ringing for nails. That’s when I decided to quit my job and take this on full time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I’m self-taught so there was definitely a lot of trial and error. A lot of times I questioned myself, wondering if I’m doing the right thing. There will always be hardships and challenges, but I enjoy solving the problems and thinking on my feet.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Nail Tech and Artist. I specialize in Acrylic Art and Hand Painted Nail Designs. I’m most proud of how I handle adversity. I just relocated to this state in October 2020, and I’ve been blessed enough to have built a new client base. The support has been amazing. I offer luxury nails at an affordable price and I think that’s what sets me apart from the other nail techs in the area. All of my clients tell me that my prices are very low compared to others and even the surrounding salons. Not only that but I try to keep the client’s needs in mind. I strive to make everyone comfortable during their service while also giving quality work.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
