Check Out David Plowden’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Plowden.

Hi David, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well, it all started around the age of 18. I was independently traveling around the country and capturing my escapades through a DSLR camera. I would then post the content I captured from my trips onto my social media outlets; I began to attract an audience. I decided to create a blog called David’s Manor—this was long before I had owned a house of course… let alone a manor. The purpose of David’s Manor was to paint an intimate picture of what my life would be like as a Central Florida blogger. When I turned 22, I purchased my very first house. I renovated it and transformed it into what I now like to refer as “The Manor”; it was honestly a branding coincidence, and the home purchase and renovation truly solidified my brand’s name. After years of attending events, fashion shows, brand collaborations, and food tastings, David’s Manor soon became a brand of its own! It was almost like I woke up one day and was like, “Wow, this David’s Manor thing is actually a… thing!”. In all honesty, I really didn’t take my blog or outlet seriously until I landed brand collaborations with Movado, Disney, and Express Men.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In all honesty, it has. The reason why is because I never take myself too seriously. This is all fun for me; I don’t allow it to get to my head too much. However, time management is probably the thing I struggle with the most. I always have so much going on, and I rarely have time to interact with other people online as much as I would like.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I assume the global term that everyone is using nowadays is “Social Media Influencer,” so I would assume that’s my title. As it relates to my actual job’s duties, I collaborate with local and international brands to promote their products, food, restaurants, and other services. I take pictures, videos and produce recaps on my blog www.DavidsManor.com. Over the years, I’ve worked with brands like Disney, Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, Movado, Express, The Four Seasons, and even Planet Fitness! I’m most proud about the relationships I’ve made along the way. Blogging and influencer work allows me to interact with like-minded people a lot.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Meeting new people, forming new relationships, and having the free rein to produce the content that I want.
