Check Out Frank Suero’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Suero.

Hi Frank, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Happily Married for 13 years with three amazing and crazy kids, ten years old princess Samirah, five years old champion boy Francisco, and an eight months little princess Amelia Grace. Living every day to the full with my best friend, girlfriend, and the craziest woman around, my wonderful wife (Only she can support my crazy life and all of the moving all over even different countries.) We are a family and a business that love the LORD and we are followers of our savior JESUS. Born and raised in the Dominican Republic.

Graduated from Graphic Design from the Altos de Chavon School of Design, worked for years as Art Director and Creative Director for Magazines in my birth country the Dom. Rep. In Canada and the USA. At the beginning of the year, 2000 moved to the USA and have been working here ever since. Since a little kid in my Home town in Barahona Rep. Dom. I loved to look at printed material from National geographic and spent hours looking at the amazing images and the pages of the magazines. As a little kid, my mother took me to a DRAWING class, and there my first steps into the world of arts. Years later, while in college, I took my very first Photography class. It was more of Concept photography than commercial photography but that was enough to get me in love with the art of image creation. After working for several publications and traveling for work in the USA and Latin America creating Landscape photography and cityscapes of every city I visited, I created a big enough body of work that companies started to contact me for paid work.

In 2008 I became a Freelancer photographer for travel companies and hotels and started working really hard in the corporate world. Created images for travel agencies in Mexico, hotels, and tourism companies. After a few years working in the field and corporations covering big and amazing events, I was asked by the Secretary of tourism in Mexico (State of Yucatan) to create three books for the government, to my surprise, I was being asked to make the new photographs that were going to be used for the new books for the Conservation of the Mayan history in Mexico. Chichen Itza, Dzibichaltum, and Uxmal. The three biggest Mayan cities from the ancient civilization. Created the new images for the books, designed the books and my images today are displayed in government agencies and museums all over Mexico where the Mayan culture is studied. Started creating more and more work for politicians and celebrities in Mexico and I started to work for Weddings as a change in the field of photography.

For the last Mexican Political campaign, I was asked to be part of the photo and communication department for the race for Governor for the state of Yucatan and later was able to photograph and be part of the Presidential campaign. an amazing accomplishment personally and a step forward to keep working creating projects for tourism. For weddings and Maternity, I have worked as the main photographer for smalls and huge weddings in the Caribbean, Mexico was my biggest market, I have worked all over the Caribbean, and then it was time to return to the USA. Moved back to the USA me and my family permanently after years of traveling in 2018, and in these three short years, we have been accumulating amazing work that is reflected by the recognition, both from companies and my clients.

Our photography business is growing every day, Having my wife working alongside me makes all of the difference. We are being asked to do weddings in several locations in Florida Like Miami, Sarasota, and Tampa, and also the Destination Wedding is growing with weddings coming in several states of the USA. In Maternity, we are really busy, we focus on making that moment an intimate and emotional one, we do not create photography just to click and get an image. We create images that stay with the families for generations bringing memories and emotions years from now. We focus on the experience, from the moment our customers contact us to the end delivery, we focus on making the experience a romantic and wonderful one. We are opening our second location in Florida, this time in the city of Saint-Cloud in the month of July 2021. A studio focused only on commercial work like Product shots, headshots, and video creation, a new target for us as a business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For sure, it has not been easy; we have had several obstacles that we have to overcome as professionals and also as individuals and as a family. Growing internationally took a big hit in family time, while developing the career and business in Latin America, we separated as a family sometimes for months, that is what I consider to be the biggest hurt of the process. Family to Us is essential and we nurture every moment we spend together. My wife’s business also suffered because she puts so much time into helping me in the photography business. Struggles in how to become known, how to generate a living out of photography in the USA have been really hard. In a market like Orlando and Florida with such great professionals it is not easy to break as a wedding photographer and even harder to break as a really good maternity photographer. Most photographers doing Maternity are women and being a man was a hurdle that we needed to overcome. Working with my wife aside makes a huge difference.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are an Orlando-based Wedding and Maternity photographer with a passion for photographing families who want to document what’s most important; the real, daily-life kind of love they share with each other. We are storytellers that strive to capture the organic in-between moments and raw emotions and turn them into memories you can treasure. We don’t take perfect photos. Instead, we believe in capturing authentic emotions, feelings, and all those in-between moments. We appreciate all the little things. The moments that unfold naturally, the moments that are not forced or posed.

Years from now, when you look at your images, we want you to remember and feel the way you did when we captured those past moments. We can’t wait to get to know you! We capture images that stay with the families we photograph for generations. My style is simple and at the same time elegant, creating images that are not only technically perfect but that bring the emotions of the moments and the experience of the event. We work in a very organic way moving from place to place and from wardrobe change to the next in a seamless and stress-free manner. Our customers love our results, images that are apart from any other photographer in the area. I do not believe in Photoshop Montages or lots of retouching, I believe in the nature of the medium and the deep interaction of my client, my camera myself. Our style and work took us to be named the top 20 photographers in Orlando for Weddings and Maternity for 2019 and 2020. That speaks for itself, also, we have a return rate of over 80% of our customers call us time after time, even for photo sessions that we do not normally do. A blessing in itself. We start working with a consultation about your session, we focus on you and only on you. We do not place sessions close to each other, we deliver the time our clients deserve and the results that only a professional creative can deliver.

What matters most to you?
What matters the most to me is GOD and FAMILY. Family is something that needs to be put in first place in all families, for us being Christians GOD is first and we base our family, business, friendship, and relationships in the Lord Jesus. In the business, what is most important is the relationship that we can create with each customer. We believe that being a photographer is an intimate relationship that allows us to get to know each customer and create images that are more intimate to the client. That only comes from getting to know the customer.
